Might want to take a look at that...

you've got it partially apart to do the regulator... just redo the whole thing and be done with it for another 25 years. :)

At the end i had the old Original ferrari housing But inside everything new from the 99 Euro alternator

So doing bearings, brushes and regulator new cost more as 99 Euro and doesn’t help if the windings are broken.

Pretty sure that Lichtmaschine 110a Honda legend coupe 3.2 generator is a 4 post not 3 post with an IN226 regulator not the IN220. If anyone get ti check the post count.

Broken wingdings good find someone may need this. Bookmarked thanks!

Yes you are Right the Honda 110a has a 4 pin regulator. I bought a 3 pin regulator before anyway. Almost sure the old 3 pin regulator was also still ok

when my 348 alternator failed, it was the slip ring that got worn down to nothing. Bought a Honda legend alternator and it did not fit (housing different), that plus a 4 pin regulator also would not fit so we gave up and got it rebuilt.

I used a 92 Dodge Monaco alternator as an interchange for the 1989 Delco unit.

Why you gave up, you had the housing and regulator from the old alternator to rebuild everything yourself

    Well, many reasons:

    1. It was 4PM on a 95 degrees day
    2. Could not muscle the old guts out from the old housing
    3. No way to get the new slip ring in time
    4. Home was 400 miles away and my ride was waiting

In the end, FBB towed my car home. Plugzit had the thing rebuilt, and reinstalled in the car. I just had to pick it up the next weekend.

The alternator on my '95 355 just failed. Probably due to an oil leak as described in one of the earlier posts. Found repair parts on Ebay today and ordered the one that includes the rectifier. $46.49 Shipped. Also bought a reman alternator on Ebay, from the US, to have on hand if the fix parts fail.
