Anyone have an idea about which Bosch battery will work for a 2001 550 Maranello ?

Costco does not have anything listed on their website. Amazon's website has nothing for a 550 - same with Pep Boys. Optima never replied to my inquiry.

I cannot find the Interstate MT7-34.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Group 34 Costco intetstate battery #850241
    $85 bucks!

Batteries do not need to be exact fitment. In fact a real battery user is my diesel truck uses 2 $300 exact fitment batteries in parallel. Instead I use 2 Costco batteries in parallel for 160 bucks! They start my diesel fine even in winter snow storms for years now. Ferrari demands are nothing by comparison.

I have just fitted the Bosch s4 to my RHD 1999 550, note that on a RHD car the positive terminal is on the left when looking front on to the battery.

That's what's in my 575...was a perfect fit including vent line...3 yrs , still going strong...

I don't understand why people want to overthink/complicate things and pay big bucks for a battery.

The battery is currently secured in the car. How do I release the battery ? Aside from the battery terminals what else needs to be removed ?

Costco does not have the # 850241 battery anywhere near my location.

Unbolt the radiator tank but leave the hoses intact. Put it to the side and the battery should come out easily. If you have a good back.

I cannot find it listed on the internet.

    No O'Reilly and Auto Zone.

I have an Interstate dealer near me. There are a few places that sell their products but I don't know what is near Dixieland.

    Wrong size.

Firestone carries Interstate batteries and should be able to order one for you.

I just bought a Bosch 91-700B at Pep Boys for this price/promotion for my 575. It's a perfect fit with 840 amps @ 32 (on the battery, Pep Boys online says 950!), 700 @ 0, and 110 min. RC (on the battery, Pep Boys online says 100!), They also have an H6 (equivalent to L3 and 48 sizes) that's rated at 910 @ 32 and 760 @ 0 but it's a bit over 1/2" taller than the 91 size. Neither are AGM but they're half the price of the Interstate AGM stuff and come with a 3 yr. replacement and the 96 mo. prorate period. They're also about the same weight (or lighter) than the flooded/wet Interstate stuff with better specs. and pricing. There's also the higher cost "S5" line S55532B (850/690 amps) which is a more direct competitor to the flooded Interstate batteries but the specs. aren't that great. If you need AGM then you can go with a Bosch S66585B (900/750 amps). If you want the Interstate flooded stuff you CAN get it at Costco, but there's a catch. They have Interstate batteries of the right size with good specs. BUT, since Ferraris aren't on their application list, you get a very reduced warranty period. Furthermore, they won't even put it in if the vehicle isn't on their list. Costco is a real pain with anything that isn't the exact OEM spec. If you want wider tires, for ex., you have to bring them just the rims .

Also consider Duracell SLI34RAGM from Batteries Plus for less than $200 after rebate and 10% discount coupon. 55AH, 750CCA. Made in USA and comes with 48 months free replacement warranty. Have one installed in my e38 and will install in the 550 when the times come.

Bought the group 48 Braille AGM, dimensions are almost identical to oem and has lots of power. Wasn't cheap but I've had crap experiences with Interstate... their quality dropped off over the years IMHO

Cheap Interstates are like any other cheap battery. Their good ones work fine. Have had various versions in my 575M for 12 years with no problems. Braille makes good batteries, too.

Yes but the last costco interstates I bought were under $90 bucks! Cash and carry baby. For my ram diesel it uses two $300 batteries or I get two interstates for 1/2 the cost and they work fine when starting my diesel truck in a Mammoth california snow storm while skiing.

The shop in Florida who performed the PPI mentioned the P.O. had the wrong battery in the car.
Please kindly look at the attached pictures.

I assume this is a grounding cable. Where do I attach the fastener (top left picture) ??

Two other issues. Any ideas about these two problems.

The wire at the end is loose and frayed (middle two pictures).
The chromed exterior battery insulation case has slight thermal damage (bottom right photo).

I will bring it to the shop, if it is necessary. Thank you.
