Are we confusing "core driver's car" with "exclusivity?" Do the 458 to Speciale, 488 to Pista enhancements represent a transformation from country club cruiser to driver's car?

To me the main difference is the limited supply.

If your information is real , Ferrari will kill everything in this segment.
I was expecting around 550-600K$ without options

Does that low of pricing doesn’t make sense. Why would they immediate kill Pista values and kill F8 sales ?? It needs to be at least 100k above the F8... actually that doesn’t even make sense if it’s the flagship regular production model.

I have been a Ferrari owner and lover since 1974 but since the 458 and Speciale the designs get worse looking to me all the time. This car looks like it came from Japan and Toyota not Italy and Ferrari. Overly fussy with a back end that is a styling mess.

I think the Stradale will be over MSRP for a year and this will help the Pista. I don’t think the Pista will ever be a cheap secondary buy, but it is hard to see it holding up like the Speciale

I highly doubt SF90 will be £100k in 10 years. £100k won’t be £100k in ten years. If you look at all the recent Ferraris - 360, 430, 458, 488, 599, F12, 812....have any of them gone below about 50%? They tend to bounce at around 50% and then head to about +/- two thirds of their original price and settle depending on model (ok, a generalisation and recessions can interfere periodically but it is generally around that figure). It is unlikely that SF90 will ever find itself at 20% of retail unless the technology wholly and completely fails, which it won’t in my view. There will always be a strong market for a well-priced, 1,000hp Ferrari if it drives like that sounds. Just to say you own and drive a 1,000hp Ferrari is worth quite a lot to the used (and new) market.

Because residual. This is a risky moment for Ferrari and they cannot afford for their hybrid car to become stigmatised. The open mule we saw at the presentation revealed the car to be quite simply designed and constructed. This makes it very buyable for me. It also means the production cost will be much lower than the slower LaF. That’s progress, not just in performance but on their ability to compete with the fact that power will soon become very cheap and accessible to many manufacturers. Ferrari need to own and drive this market space. This is a smart strategy and leaves competitors with not much to go at. The more you think about it, the more you realise they just raised the bar for everyone else.

By the way, it will be well over £100k more than F8. More like £150-200k?

Maybe not like the Speciale but certainly as good as the Scuderia. For those of us who enjoy light weight "analog" cars I think Pista might very well be the last of that breed.

Using ‘positive’ glasses, there is still enough room for the Pista to do very well. It is not heavily supplied, it is amazingly and blisteringly quick - much more than Speciale, yet it is still a car that uses only petrol - no electricity. It will be forever the fastest, meanest and most aggressive car with only one soul. For many, that is a very neat place in history to occupy.

Multiple confirmations here on a 500k base for Stradale - IMO 100k over is sustainable
But Pista is now old news plus the 812 spider is gonna draw more away from Pista
secondary So come 12 months flipped Pista's will be MSRP IMO. The turbo V8's
will not do as well the NA's

I can relate to some of what you say. Some designs are more edgy some more graceful and elegant. I will say that it’s difficult to accept that they aren’t using Pininfarina any longer. Ferrari Centro Styling is simply a different organization. They’re have been some misses recently. Even if the SF90 isn’t to some of our taste it is Flavio’s best and most harmonious design. It absolutely looks Italian to me. From the form beautiful and elegant and from the back aggressive and technical. I think it works and truly believe many of those who don’t like it will change their mind and love it when they see it in person. It will be very low and sleek. Pictures cannot convey sculpture. It must be perceived in person and reality of 3D perspective.

Yes I agree with everything you’ve said. I think it will be $500-700K USD. I was replying to what some have said about this idea of a SF90 having a $350-450k USD price tag. I don’t think that will happen. It doesn’t make any sense.

I don't think it photographs very well. Looks better in the Carguys video. I'm sure in person it will be stunning.
