In the process of recovering the dash in my 550, my tech has discovered that the plastic part on the leading edge of the dash and at the base of the windshield, Part number 8 in the Ricambi schematic, is cracked. Ricambi lists this part as unobtainable. Does anyone know where this part can be found?

I am considering having this part reproduced. The cost per part would be much lower if I can have more than one made. I would like to know how many people need one of these for their car. If you need part number 63202100 for your 456, 550 or 575 please reply and let me know.

Not sure. I'll check. I know my dash needs recovering but haven't inspected that trim piece.

I have checked with every vendor I can think of including Eurospares and dismantlers but no one has this part, new or used. 3D printing is one of the methods I’m looking into. Thank you to those of you that have replied that you need one as well. I’m hoping to get 10 requests for this part to spread the cost of reverse engineering and production down to a reasonable level.

Please put me down as interested. Reasonably level with OE quality being factors. Thanks for researching this.

I could use one too but I think the only way to replace or refinish it is to remove the whole dash
    Not ready for that yet

….mine is sticky as well, seems, that exposed directly to the sun this is "stickiest" part of them all. Practically, it seems you have to remove either the windscreen or the dashbord to have a sufficent access to it.... Who ever developed this "softpaint" should be feathered….

The developer should be feathered. But the fact they KEPT using it long after it was clear that it died so badly is in some degree much worse!!

By the way, do you have to remove the dashboard or the windscreen to have direct access to this part?

The dashboard needs to be removed to replace this part. It can not be done by removing the windshield.

Don’t use the car actually any more, I‘m so disappointed with this issue..., everytime I remove the car cover, I look at this ugly sticky, shiny, nearly unreachable piece below the windscreen...
