surprised we all missed this. Doug Demuro did a video on cars that will go up in value. I couldnt agree more. I also agree with his video on cars that will go down in value.

I assume you talk about a C6 because I don’t think C7 Z06 are going for half yet. I always thought the C6 z06 was a lot of car for the money.

He also called his video on the tr 3 years ago: this is why the Testarossa is shooting up in value...
The owner of that car is on this site btw.

Was a 2015 zo6 with the z7 track package paid about 118k sold it for 55k. I tried for 59k but didn’t have much luck. These cars are really bad about not holding there value.

The computer module thing also applies to the TR. Try finding one of the control modules that sits on the right fender well..not often they fail though.

The bigger issue is the fact Bosch no longer supports the CIS injected cars. They have stopped production of the major components. Fuel distributors, air valves, warm up regulators, thermo time switches, accumulators.
Fast moving items like injectors, filters, pumps etc, are still available for how long? Who knows.

The secondary market is all that's left. Rebuilt units form CIS flow tech, or used questionable units are available but unknown condition until they are bought and installed. It's getting rough out there. Ferrari guys aren't the only ones effected either. VW, Benz, Porsche, are all in the same boat.

But isn't this the same injection system used on European Mercedes taxicabs? I figured cis components would be available for eons.

Trouble is..the taxi cab parts are long gone, as they have done their duty. Sure there may be a few good salvageable parts out there, but they are few and far between. The rebuilders are hard to find, expensive, and the wait times are very long. I sent a set of fuel heads out for rebuild, it took almost 3 months.

The TR may use parts similar, but there are differences which are critical. These older cars are quickly becoming candidates for late model EFI conversions just because of fuel system parts shortages.

I really pity the owners of barely driven cars. The rotten fuel will kill these cars more then a failed timing belt ever could.

The way I see it ... people just testing out current market, otherwise how you can explain the fact that as soon as you make an inquiry they reporting to you that “my TR already sold few days ago”, but they do continue to advertise it on eBay and other websites :)

And it stings more when the car was acquired "As an investment", and not to enjoy it. ;)
I've always acquired my possessions in order to enjoy them.
If if goes up or down on value it does not matter to me; and contrary to what some think here, you cannot take it with you to the afterlife. :)

Maybe he was referring that it is not available for Ferraris, but if one is adept and mechanically savvy it could be done with the "lesser" Mercedes option.

Looks like the 512’s are a little late to the depreciation party that TR’s experienced.

TRa were revised inch lower as well
Honestly the lower end is completely off
The average value is not 68k and there’s no way you can find a “good” example for that money, or even a “fair” one for 59k

I know it's just one data point , but under the "Past Sales" portion used to evaluate values, they list ZFFAA17B000091201 selling for $107k in 2018, but that is a Testarossa. I think their valuation is accurate, expect one condition off, ie 187k for excellent, 161k for good, 134k for fair.

A couple ;) working behind the scenes. But definitely slightly north of 150k, can’t get anything pretty good lower than that. No point to get a basket case;)
