I thought the clip of the 599 manual being driven around Monaco was very interesting. I had been told that the Enzo derived V12 and the stick were an unhappy marriage, as the engine was designed for an F1 transmission from the outset. Yet the car appeared to be easy and comfortable to drive, not that different from my late lamented 575M manual. Perhaps even better in town than many F1 boxes !
There was a thread here years ago about a guy who test drove a manual 599 and hated it. Something like Manual 599 Just Walk Away, IIRC.
Lots of debate and commentary, mostly from those who have not driven the car. I've owned two (2) manual trans 599s, including the second-to-last one made. The issue is this: the flywheel is very light-weight. This means 2 things: the car revs VERY easily, and it also stalls VERY easily on pull-out (less flywheel momentum). Bottom line: pulling-out with finesse requires some practice. But i can promise you this: it's WAY easier to drive than an F40! (of which i've also owned and driven 2) One more thing: check the sales records for the miles driven, on most manual-trans 599s. SOMEBODY has been driving and enjoying these wonderful machines! Lesson: don't believe everything you read online.
Just a friends' get together reunion only for 599 ( excepted a F12). I dream to organise one on a bigger scale somewhere in Europe !

Hi, It's very easy to check if a manual 599 is original or converted. Do you know how can you check? I'm the Giallo Modena manual 599's owner Image Unavailable, Please Login
I only have Ferraris with 3 pedals: I can't use the F1 system. Furthermore, manual and F1 Ferraris (same models) are very different...
The yellow manual is quite stunning. Thank you for posting photos! 152979 is now on Ebay (no affiliation): https://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Ferrari-599-GTB-Fiorano-Manual/183790255998?hash=item2acac0bf7e:g:wKgAAOSwYpVcbKX-&vxp=mtr&frcectupt=true Updated 599 Manual List: 146539 Giallo/Dark-Gray (Euro) 148702 Black/Black (Euro) 149311 Titanio met/Blu (Euro) 149428 one-off Zagato re-body (from video above) 150332 Red/Black (Euro) 150335 Black/Tan (Euro RHD) 150338 Red/Tan 150345 Black/Black 150346 Red/Black 150549 Black/Black 150551 Silverstone/Tan 150620 Red/Black 150621 Black/Black 150861 Silverstone/Black 150863 Black/Black 150866 Blue Tdf/Grey 151006 Black/Black (Euro RHD) 151275 Black/Black 151564 Red/Black (Euro) 151849 Red/Tan 151850 Blue/Tan 152365 Rubino/Tan 152366 Red/Tan 152969 Silverstone/Tan (Euro) 152979 Red / Tan 153027 Silverstone/Tan 153378 Red/Crema 153722 Red/Black (Euro) 153876 Silverstone/Tan 156243 Titanio met/Tan (Euro) 156616 Silverstone/Tan 157523 Black/Charcoal (Euro) 157988 Green/Black (Euro) 158461 Fiorano Rosso/tan 159182 Blue/Red (Castriota's one-off?) 159626 Red/Tan 159976 Silver/Red-black 160180 Blu Mirabeau/Tan (Euro) 162942 Pozzi/Tan 162945 Blu Tdf/Blue (Euro) 164473 Black/Black (Euro) 166146 Blu Pozzi/Black (Euro) 166663 Vinaccia/Tan (Euro) 166986 Blu Mirabeau/? It's very easy and you only have to check the chassis type. The 599 GTB has F141 ABE for F1 models or F141 ABM for manual models. As well, a 430 Coupé (not spider) has F131 EBE for F1 or F131 EBM for manual A 612 Scaglietti has F137 ALE for F1 or F137 ALM for manual. So, if you find a 599 F141 ABE with a stick, it's not a factory original manual 599 but an after sale conversion. For exemple, my manual 599: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you I also thank you for your thread because I now know that my manual 599 is the only factory manual giallo ever produced and also the first one according to the list
Shall the 152979 be part of the listing ?? for me not an original but a conversion or " conversion" must be mentioned on your listing Image Unavailable, Please Login
Indeed, this car 152979 has been converted and is not factory original (see page 5 of this thread) and here: https://www.autotrader.com/car-news/autotrader-find-ferrari-599-gtb-manual-transmissio-281474979860126 Check the chassis type
You're welcome. Second detail, you can also check the clutch pedal. But you must check BOTH, chassis type and clutch. If the clutch pedal has been molded, the car MAY be a factory original manual. If the pedal has been CNC machined, the car has been converted for sure. Ferrari only use molded pedals.
Picture from a converted 599. You can easily see that the clutch pedal is CNC machined and not molded... Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is not appreciated ( by me at last ) is that the seller never mentioned on eBay or at the garage this is a conversion, you got to read between the lines....
Thank you for the chassis information! So, I'm going to go with the standard practice and only list 599 manuals that came out of the factory. Dealer conversions should be clearly identified and the purveyors of 152979 should be perfectly transparent. Nice car. But they don't read this thread on F-Chat because they are talking about 10 delivered cars in Europe
