Well, my missing Rolex showed up. It was sunburned and hungover. Apparently it had a good time visiting Florida.
I wear a 30 year old Rolex every day even when biking to work or riding trails. I’ve dropped it banged it swam in the ocean dropped it In a river... when it comes back from service it always looks brand new again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jason, I hate guys like you. You’re a big tease! I love vintage pieces......30 years old? Dude, let’s see it!
I'm too much of a newbie to understand or appreciate the value of a vintage piece, lots of emotion & excuses behind that statement. Anyway I do think its going to be another Rolex. I looked at a few sport style since I already have a gold daydate . No new stainless steel in my area are available but pre-owned are or also new white gold. My over the top desires are tending me towards the w/g but really for me , for a casual wearing do I need that watch of should I go for the pre-owned stainless steel model at less than half the price. This is the white gold I tried on. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another absolutely amazing timepiece. I’m starting to wonder if I come to FerrariChat for the cars or this thread. Either way, it’s good....... Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
What is your opinion of RM? Frankly I don’t understand why they are so darn expensive? Sent from my 16M
Old school....tying in racing history with watch history. Name the movie. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my 16M
...and I’ll admit it, I don’t know, so would you teach me Ed? Is that an original one? Or one of the modern productions?
They are masterpieces of technology. They cost too much but this is the same for all the luxury watches. If you wear a RM you will love it but you'll never understand its price But they are lovely
Heuer made this Monaco in ‘69, as the first square shaped automatic chronograph. Yes, Steve McQueen wore the Monaco 1133b in the famous movie LeMans. It took me over a year to find an original one in good condition. Sent from my 16M
I’m slouching around the house today. Not wearing a watch. (I can’t find the “What clock are you watching today?” thread.) I expanded my garage recently and am building out a portion of it as a place to tinker. A peaceful place. It’s more a workshop than a lounge but I put a simple desk in front of a big window. Needed a clock. I found this old Seth Thomas alarm clock from the late 1940s in an antique shop. I just love winding it up in the morning before I sit down. It ticks away almost silently. Its a simple little contraption. The little dial is not a second hand; it is the alarm setting. The case is a solid piece of mahogany with a hole bored through the middle. It’s got an adjustment lever in the back to regulate the time but it’s just fine as-is. It gains a couple of minutes a day. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Again, I don’t know so educate me if you don’t mind, your original example cost a gazillion dollars right? Way more than a vintage Sub or GMT, right?
I’m not sure I understand why this watch is an understatement. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Cause it is a great timepiece, with an incredible caliber but with the look of a Swatch. Thank to these you can wear it in all occasions. Here the caliber. The watch is made of aluminum and mos of the caliber also. Image Unavailable, Please Login
