    Hi,

I'm moving into the UK with my 456 MGT, and I have a few questions

In the US the 456 MGT doesn't have rear fog light, I know it is a requirement here in the UK, is anyone who can tell me a bit more about the process for converting such rear tails lights
Will it be recommended to make such conversion here in the UK or in the US?

With the LHD car, what insurance companies are more welcome to accept such a car without overcharge the insurance premium ( intent to use only for the weekend )

Been in London, what independent Mechanics will be the best to perform such job?

    Thanks for your help

    JM

Welcome: which side of London ? West is Autoficcina - they should have experience of UK registration requirements - the fog light could easily be an bolt-on - I know some models have a spare switch - work should be done in UK to ensure compliance for reregistration - not sure about insurance - maybe check out the owners club policy thro Locktons

Insurance - if it is not your main vehicle, you can insure quite cheaply on a Classic Car policy - widely available - but you will have to garage it. On that basis, LHD probably won't be an issue.

Hi, the best place to take your 456 is Rardley Motors, an independent Ferrari specialist, South of London.

They are probably the country's leading 456 specialists. Whatever problems you have with your 456, they will have come across before, their knowledge and experience is second to none. They are also good guys to work with.

They look after my 456M GTA and as you can probably guess, I'm a delighted customer!

For Ferrari insurance I use AIB 02380 268351. They are sponsors on http://www.clubscuderia.co.uk

I use Autofficina for servicing and they looked after my 456 when I had it.

    Welcome to the UK.

For work on the 456 I would suggest Autofficina www.autofficina.co.uk

The owner used to have a 456 himself and he knows them very well. For insurance I would suggest RK Harrison. A tip, do not elect for the cheapest insurance-it will bite you.

RK Harrison are a bunch of lowlife scumbags. I used to insure through them. But not content with the commission they get anyway they try to cream off an extra service charge. Also they are supposed to be brokers checking the market each year but it was only when I told them I no longer wished to insure with them that it turned out they hadn't bothered to check the market at all but were just passing on the renewal quote from the existing insurer (for which onerous task they were trying to charge an extra 80 quid on top of the premium). So if you want to pay over the odds for a lazy bunch of useless good for nothings (whilst noting that they are only brokers and not actually the insurers anyway) then by all means contact them. Alternatively, save yourself some money by dealing direct with the insurers or find a better broker - which shouldn't be hard.

I use Marsh Private Clients for my covers, and they rebroke reasonably well. Currently held with Zurich VIP on the house and all the cars... top cover, guaranteed values, no quibble claims etc.... it’s not the cheapest cover I could get, but it’s the best I could buy

    Gents,
Many thanks for the reply and feedback

I think for the Insurance; I still need to get registered before the insurance company can do any quotation

For the Mod to Uk, Autofficina sound to be the way to go

    Cheers
