I was at the Geneva show in March and almost every stand had either a real hybrid or a concept or full E.V. versions .
The new Alfa suv due next year is a hybrid described as above debuted at the show - real stunner .
The Alfa stand , Fiat ( Jeep ) , Maserati and Ferrari were adjacent .So as a group like the VAG stuff there’s a car for everybody somewhere .

Ferrari are just playing catch up - re green / environmental marketing and forthcoming EU legislation.

 

I think this is the most likely.

It would be nice if Ferrari came out with a brand new entry level V8, with 900bhp, a 250mph top speed, and front and rear mounted sights to line up lesser vehicles for passing..... screw the PC world of hybrid rubbish and pretending to use less fuel...... 8mpg and enough power to spin the world backwards please, and seats for two, me and ‘a.n.other hot blonde in her heels’.... twos company, threes a distraction, at least while driving

 

They're buying the F1 team from Mercedes, painting the cars red and running them as Ferraris.....
