im interested in this AM https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/AZ17/Arizona/lots/r196-1979-aston-martin-v8-vantage-oscar-india/407980 My question is is that it had a professional conversion from RH drive to LH drive years ago. Is this taboo and or will it effect value etc. I was born in the UK and always wanted a Vantage. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. Ps I will be trading (2) cars I have towards the purchase,....out of pocket will be approx 100k Thx
I've been watching that market for many years now, the fact that the car is an original Vantage (vs converted one years later after the car left the factory) is more important then right to left conversion (must be done right, with all original parts, preferably by Aston Martin Works). The car above sold at market retail, a similar Volante would bring about $50k more (at dealer).
That’s a stunning car. Never been in one so can’t comment on the driving experience. The older I get though, the more I like the newer cars. Having already owned some older porsche’s and ferrari’s from the 70’s/80’s I’d probably pass on going back in time that far again. Let us know how it goes. Robb
