I just wanted to let you all know of a great place I found.
I didn't want to let anyone know until they were done with my cars.
Its called Mario and Son Classic Car Painting out in Hesperia.
Its about hour and 10 minutes away from LA.
    Great guy and shop.
He did a complete to the metal strip and paint plus so much body-work for my almost dead Espada. Also a complete paint of my Ferrari 400i, and now he is onto my Maserati Sebring. He's doing a complete strip and repair of any rust.
Mario is great with rebuilding and fabrication of rusted out panels etc.
For my Espada he had to rebuild the whole roof.
For my Sebring he's having to rebuild the hood and truck currently and there will be probably more to do.
And his prices are very reasonable for the amount of work and the quality you get.
I found him through another F-Chatter here that had his Ghibli painted.
Please feel free to PM me for Mario's contact info and references.

Likely not in your budget but it would have been nice forr that roof to have been done by a metalshaper so you can put some shape into the panel. One day that roof will get replaced again. Paint looks good though.

My Espada was $20k which included lots of bodywork. The roof was $3000 extra, and he also reworked the Euro Bumpers for $3000, and made a new set of side moldings for $2500. All very fair I must say..
My 400i was $8000, that didn't have much bodywork at all.
And my Sebring is $18,000 because of lots of bodywork that it needs, plus taking it down to the metal takes much more time.
He didn't take my 400i all the way down to the metal.

Let me know and we can go for a drive out to his shop to check it all out. I need to make a visit soon to see the progress of the Sebring...

$8k isn't too bad I think. I wonder if I stripped a lot of parts off if the price would come down more. It would be interesting to see the place. I need yo figure out my garage situation before I visually restore my TR. It mechanically is great, just visually has some paint issues. Also have a 911 that needs some work.

Paint can cost $8k, I paid almost $6k for the paint materials for my 356 about four years ago.

Its all in the prep. I painted my 1967 Ghia for only $2500 and it came out great. But I had to prep it myself, take it apart etc. In the end I feel the prep the shop did, sanding etc was done quick and doesn't have the same look as my Espada or 400i. So much less wavy when you look down the sides of the other cars. But you have to look at it a while to really tell the difference..

It all depends on the condition and how busy the shop is.
I was surprised my Espada went as quick as it did. But my 400i was much easier but took almost as much time. Would have thought it would had been done faster since there was no rust etc to deal with. It was also in the middle of winter and it gets cold in Hesperia..
