Additional oil supply line from the box to the drop gear case = from what oil supply line can you connect that extra oil line ? Is there a hole allready or can a hole being drilled somewhere in the box ? Guido
Sensor plate housings needed to be taken apart and cleaned up. Had to drive the plate height pin back up from the inside because someone had driven the pin in too far setting the plate rest position too low in the cone. Wrong hoses from the filler neck and one too large to fit inside the retainers so it was zip tied on to the others. Clamps are wrong too. Beautiful as always, and really helpful in terms of the correct routing and hose type. Regarding the fuel distributors, which I have rebuilt, do you have a test bench to check for injector volume balance and function? I was thinking of building a basic test station to do this before the final installation.
I have them rebuilt and calibrated, same goes for the WUR's. No headaches that way especially on a fresh engine.
Hi Paul, Looking wayy back on gearbox pics - - - Am I seeing correctly that reverse has a synchro?? I looked it up in parts book and appears to be so. The boxer is a pretty refined car! If memory serves, 308's do not. Thanks.

Thats the sexiest ass end of any car made. And you got it all toned and strong. I love your boxer threads. Thanks.
Hi Paul, again, really nice. Would you be so kind as to post some hi-res images of the visualized front of the engine, firewall area as well as from below- This would really be helpful as I am close to re-installing the engine. I want to be sure that all hose and wire routing is "correct". Even though I have probably 1000 images it is amazing to see the ones I didn't take, not to mention the fact that a mechanic had previously been there.
Here's a few dirty and clean. Put as much on as possible before installing the engine. Ferrari installs both oil lines on the engine but the long one requires someone under the car feeding it through the chassis so I leave the long one on the car. I install the engine with alternator belt tension set and once in I undo the right lower alternator bracket - the alternator hardly moves - then I can attach the long hose to the fitting in the gearbox. In this case the short oil line to the tank was left on the car, dont do that. I also attach the 3/4" hose to the lower coolant pipe near the water pump so I dont have to reach in there after the engine is installed. The top coolant pipe comes down and lines up with the oil pressure gauge sending unit so if you put it right in front of the sending unit you can tighten the hose clamps knowing it'll line up with the central pipes on the car. And the pic of the fresh engine was taken before I put the line on. Ill post more pics. I leave the bell housing off and install it once in the car . 76 engine shows large oil line. You want it to pretty much touch the driver side filter (for us with LHD cars) and then when its hooked to the tank it will clear the filter. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks! very helpful-I am probably going to reinstall the engine within the next month. I am sorting out the wiring and mounting of the new ignition box-I went with a Pertronix HP digital which is interesting in that it is Bluetooth linked to a phone app to allow all parameters to be set. And despite the superb service access to the front of the engine I don't want to omit all initial routing and connections.
Replaced the rear upper shield and the silicone tubing on the rear lighting harness. Did some tuning and let it run for a while, several cooling fan cycles. Ill put the rear clam on this weekend and the muffler tips I have back from the polisher so Ill weld them back on as well and road test monday.
