I need your help to decide what to do. I've a 488 Spider and I'm not in love with the new F8. So I was thinking to move to a 12 cylinders. Can't decide for a GTC4 Lusso (4 seats can be sometime useful) or 812. What are your suggestions? Thnaks
Very different cars. We have an FF and 812. Realize that many see the lusso as an improvement but I actually prefer the look of the FF. Regardless, FF is very practical and awesome. The 812 is more of the “488” feel with possibly the greatest engine ever made...IMHO. It’s also very civilized when not pushed hard. I am in NorCal and on a rainy day,,,like today...I would drive the FF all day long but would leave the 812 in the garage because it isn’t all the happy when traction isn’t ideal. If a 360, daily driver you may be better off with the lusso but if you have a great second car, you can’t go wrong with an 812. Just one perspective. Good luck...both are incredible cars.
Lusso is very GT compared to the 812, so I would see if you can get test in one before committing to it. The 812 is just epic!
There’s no question 812. Lusso amazing for what it is but the feel and size difference from 488 to 12 cylinder 2 + 2 are different animals. The 812 is just right. Drive them and come back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The 812 is the superior machine. Other than collectability, I don't see a reason for getting a GTO over a Superfast.
The GTO offers a different type of drive that is certainly more appealing to some. It might be "old" tech vs the SF but it is raw. I know i would def forego the tech advancements of a 812 in exchange of the rawness of a GTO.
As a FF owner: Go 812. Don't get me wrong here, I am completely in love with my FF - however since you a) have a 2-seat 488 Spider and b) don't seem to need the 4 seats, there is no question - you need the 812. Because if you need 4 seats, well then the 812 is not going to work now is it? You simply need the speed of the 812.
I was going to suggest TDF but obviously thats a big gap in price range. Ive owned GTO and Currently TDF, and have driven 812, and i can tell you that 812 isn’t comparable. The driving experience itself is night and day. There is a lot of value in GTO right now if you can catch the right price. Amazing machine
If you don't need four seats, then 812 (or F12) is the logical choice. The FF (and Lusso) however have a longer wheelbase -- and for being a Ferrari, it's so comfortable to drive, especially here in LA on our ****ty roads.
How funny. I am trying to get out of my f12 so that I can buy a 488 spider. If they were hot wheels, I’d suggest a trade of some sort...
Lusso has too much bodyroll for my taste. Never drove the 812 but was in the passenger side, felt flatter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
