For many years the rumor has been circulating about a Bugatti sedan, which would come to assist the Chiron and offer an even more luxurious alternative to the limousines offered by Rolls-Royce or Bentley. After the hypothetical Galibier, whose brand had presented a draft with the eponymous concept unveiled in 2009, it is now the mythical Royale that could resurfacing. The information comes from the British magazine car, which is based on statements from the brand's P-DG, Stephan Winkelmann.

However, the Alsatian firm would not use the w16 engine for this new car, which would use electricity. This family Bugatti would thus take over the Porsche Taycan platform, but would have more generous dimensions, in order to justify its limousine status. It would of course have an integral transmission and would develop nearly 880 HP. The use of solid batteries is also envisaged, this technology favouring autonomy, due to greater energy density.

A competitor for the Rolls-Royce Phantom?

In addition to being a more family-friendly model, this new Royale would also be a Bugatti more accessible than the superpowerful hypercars proposed by the brand, since the release of the Veyron in 2005. Its price would be according to car around 700 000 €. A rate three times lower than that of a Chiron, but that would still make this Royal a hell of a rival for the Rolls-Royce Phantom. If this project succeeds, it will still be patient, since this car would not see the day before 2023

This will probably be Bugatti's second model with the replacement Chiron.

This possible Royal will probably not occur until 2023.

And the replacement of the Chiron will only take place in 2025.

See what happen in the futur, but - in my opinion- those supercars will disappear slowly for different cars: electric, confortable with a lot of security and probably later driving alone...

i highly doubt that they would use that name on a future series,
especially if it is a more affordable one.

however they could keep that name for a one (or few)-off...
