Belt covers are not wrinkled, they're cast and painted silver just like the block and gearbox.

    Water pipes are anodized.

Prevents radio interference like the old corvettes had but in chrome. Injected boxers came with a radio from the factory.

Once I road test the car they will take on a nice golden colour from the heat cycles. So when they were new they were silver. Testarossa, 328, all the same in that they turn gold in a very short period of time.

    looks great
I hope to follow suit very soon. Waiting on a new ignition module prior to being able to put the engine back in.
looking at the Pertronix digital HP with Bluetooth control. This allows for easy setup and rev limit also you can disable the ignition via the app.

No link. Its an AP Racing clutch I get from the usual sources like Rutlands or Eurospares.

Paul, how do you know everything is good inside the mufflers? I've seen cans that look great from the outside, but are totally corroded from within?

These mufflers are stainless steel and if there's nothing rattling around and nothing comes out its good. But the Ansa mild steel mufflers if you listen very closely on a quiet night you can hear them rust.

    Drop gears case and bearings.

Stock 512 Boxer bearings on left, top is input support bearing. Right row is Testarossa, note top and bottom bearings. Testarossa rollers on the top are longer to spread the load and they're larger in diameter. The 365 boxer had no upper bearing here. The input shaft relied on the pilot bearing in the crank and the bearing in the bell housing only. Even the first 512 boxers had no support bearing in the drop gear case so the input shaft, upper gear and drop gear case was different. No doubt the gears were trying to push away from each other under load. Not sure when the 512 got the upper support but a check of the parts book could probably tell me the chassis number split.

So as the cars progressed the upper bearing was added then the bearings were beefed up and then the TR got an additional oil supply line from the box to the drop gear case. The Testarossa gears are also cut on a steeper angle.

The bottom bearing is a much better part and a number of additional balls. A nice upgrade if you're changing them anyway.

New rear heat shield has been test fitted and drop gear case is ready.

So true....I just cut up the Ansa sport exhaust's on my BBi and both units were completely rotten away and disintegrated under the fairly nice looking skin. Corrosion protection has never been a part of the thought process in that company.
