I gave up a 355 spider stick to get a 360 spider stick. The 355 is a bit of a pos in some ways. But it’s small size, the engine sound, and stiffness I still miss. The 360 spider has too much body flex imo. Eyes closed, I would take the 355 over the 360

Interesting that you gave the same sound score to a 360 stock as one with a Tubi.

    I can tell you’re a flappy paddle guy ;)
I suspect some will flip the scores between 360m and 360f1, esp regarding regularity of issues.

9 metrics that are each relative to the individual biases of the driver. I still enjoyed looking.

Nice to see the 348 score fairly well. People who have actually owned a 348 probably agree with your thoughts.

So is a 10 good and trouble free and the 4 and 5 indicate lots of issues with your experience? :D

On the Tubi for the 360 - don’t get me wrong, it’s not unpleasant, I just think the standard 360 exhaust suits the 360 really well without being over the top.

I must say having come from a PDK, the flappies in the 360 with the CS TCU are EPIC.

The 348 still remains right at the top for fun in my experience. Maybe mine was just well sorted but it baffles me that people slate it (often when they haven’t owned one). I hill climbed mine a few times and it was really a brilliant little car. One of my few regrets selling it. I am working hard on a dream of owning a 308, 348, 355 and 360 all at the same time - can you guess the period I grew up in?

J360M, as a former 348 spider, F355 spider and current 360 F1 spider I found your ratings reflecting my opinions as well!
    I would add:
    348 Top Operation 10
    355 Top Operation 5
    360 Top Operation 9

Never had Spiders but assume simplicity is because the 348’s roof is more simple/more mechanical?

The 348 is such a great Ferrari. Time will balance sentiment in the right direction I am sure.

Interesting evaluation. The general consensus has always been the F360 chassis is considerably more rigid and without cowl flex in the spider configuration over the F355.

Score for 355 would be higher if you had a Capristo instead of a Tubi. And no way a 348 scores higher than 355 in any category.

I would agree, having driven a couple F348s and owning an F355 spider with a Capristo. The Capristo really screams by comparison to the Tubi.

Yes; Ferrari claimed the 360 in coupe form was nearly 30 per cent stiffer than the 355. Also the 360 was designed from conception to be a spider.

I absolutely drove both and decided I like the 348 more...and before anyone mentions price difference, I willingly "overpaid" (in 2010 figures) for my 348 as it is the exact car I wanted at that time. Still love the thing! It is more of an experience to drive.

When the 348 sounds like this, get back to me. I love the 348 Serie Speciale though. Too bad it was never released in the U.S

Ferrari almost went under because of the 348. My pops was a Ferrari fanatic in the 80's. Passed up on the 348 for an NSX in 1991. The F355 is the reason why Ferrari still exists today.

Well then when they cut the top off things went to crap. I’m thinking the wheels are all further apart on the 360 and ? Weighs more. One or both totally negated any increased stiffness. I also had 18” lower profile than stock wheels in my 355. Should have made cowl shake worse than 360 or at least favored the 360. 360 spider is a shake machine compared to 355 counterpart.

I owned a 348 spider and 355gts(6 speed)years ago and for spirited street driving I found the 348 to be far more engaging. The 355 engine was a screamer but had to be worked hard to get to the power and the power assist steering felt decidedly less connected then the the non-assist 348 steering. I remember visiting a dealership years ago and driving a 348 challenge coupe and 355 coupe back to back and I was amazed how much more fun the 348 was. That said, the 430 I have now is a blast to drive and really all the speed I need for the street.

I can see how no power steering gives a more connected race feel. I'll give you that.
