Hello Sir, I've notice the white TR, what year is it ? And did the TR belong to Miles Davis? Thank you, Mike Bridges
File this one under "It's a small world." How I Saved A Coked Up Miles Davis After He Crashed His Lamborghini
he also had a dark blue (TDF?)/black 348 TS, # 87833 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/269376-miles-davis-f348.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
This car is currently for sale at sporthaus in Reno,NV. looking WAY rougher than that pic. https://www.sporthausreno.com/1990-ferrari-348ts-targa-c-41.htm The interior is also a very dark blue. sjd (I want it...bad)
I want it to didn't realize the interior is dark blue. nice touch. I hope someone buys it and gives it the care it deserves.
Odd it went to "call for price". it was originally listed for 52k and change. I'd go chase it, but i'd have to either sell my 348ts, or my GTX, in order to have the garage space. sjd
Paul, not in the dez yet - we're getting her sorted on the East Coast right now, but will let you know when she heads West, possibly this Summer. The previous owner had an $18K engine out service performed last March by the Ferrari dealer in Fort Lauderdale to prepare her for sale, but when I got her home the gas smell in the garage was so overwhelming she went in to the dealer's sister shop in Long Island. I saw it yesterday, and t's been suggested we drop the engine again to replace the rear main seal and the dry rotted fuel lines that were not replaced during the last engine out. And while we're at it why not do the clutch. Bang, we're looking at over $10K already, and it hasn't' been driven since the major last year, other than to get home to me. And they didn't mention or attend to the fried and re-wired fusebox. Nor did they check for the lingering recall for the passive restraint system. It appears as if they even left the old motor mounts in. Will keep everyone posted as the mechanical "restoration" continues, hopefully Ferrari Long Island will make good and stand by their work, otherwise... I spoke with the head of publicity for the Miles Davis estate earlier this week, there is strong interest among auto magazines and blogs to write about this Ferrari (I'm christening her the "Miles 60 Minutes Testarossa" in reference to the now infamous news magazine interview). We're gathering up as many pictures, anecdotes and stories about this one, and soon will be working on a broader look at Miles the continuous and defiant exotic car enthusiast. It's an honor and a responsibility to preserve and share this little piece of pop culture history. So far, I've seen supporting evidence of him having owned a 250 GT California he kept at his dad's place, a red 275 GTB4 he's been photographed in around New York City and once brokered by Mike Sheehan (there has been mention of a silver 275 4 cam with bullet holes in it, maybe same car), the famous yellow 308 GTSi recently for sale, a blue 348 TS mentioned elsewhere on Ferrarichat and my silver 87 Testarossa. I've also seen one or two lists including a 250 GT Lusso, but no one has ever seen a pic or heard a story about it, so it's to be confirmed. If we eventually produce a documentary about Miles the car guy, which title do you like? Miles and Miles, or In-Tune? The blue 348 I think is still floating around. I think it was in or around Las Vegas last I saw it for sale. Back in Y2K I found a 275 GTB of his that was in running condition in Florida. It was red then. Not sure what became of it.
If only you grabbed it. Apparently, and tragically, after it was brokered by Mike Sheehan it was chopped, sorry "converted" into a NART spyder. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/141377162/
