What's the latest news on Walter Medlin?? I find him an interesting guy. The Tax litigation shows a new son by his Admin Assistant. Not sure how that relates to the other children in his estate plans. Old Guy knew him pretty well...
Still in jail, maybe. He was sentenced to a 30-month stint in 2014. Orlando Sentinel But, he's pretty secretive. Not sure anyone would be making a fuss about his whereabouts. Especially not him. CW
With such a long racing history of the BB's, my question is, which won more races/ placed and raced for longer the BB cars or the Daytona?
I don't know if this tells the whole story, but here are some statistics... http://www.racingsportscars.com/type/Ferrari/365%20GTB__4.html ... 2 overall wins, 3 2nd places, 6 3rd places and 13 additional class wins. http://www.racingsportscars.com/suffix/Ferrari/512%20BB/__LM.html ... 6 class wins. Best finish was 5th OA (2x). CW
I'm looking for pictures of the BB 512 #48 at Le Mans in 1981. I hope to identify different stickers :
I bought 38179 from Ron's bank in 1984 along with 34445. Price as ridiculously low. Should have kept them both....also bought 44023 new from Jacques Swaters
Depends on a number of factors such as provenance, condition and spares. I'm not sure if Classiche really matters, but I might as well add that in. I'd say $2MM is somewhere in the range. I'm told there's one available for $3MM, also. It has been gone through, is fresh and has a decent provenance. I doubt seller will get that, though, and it's been available at that price for a while. CW
Correction... The other car's asking is, I'm told, $3.7MM. Again, been available at that price for a while. CW
Who can tell me more about Boxer-engine #003 which was handed to Carrozzeria Auto Sport in 1977. In 1976 they were given a contract with Ferrari for the repair and panel production of the fiberglass 308 GTBs (I owned #19169 for 15 years) and they built the body prototypes for the 512 BBLM, where engine #003 was amongst the first batch. I am working on a project, and I welcome more information about this engine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is #44023 purchased by me new from Jacques Swaters at Garage Francorchamps, later owned by Liebhaber and now by Philippe Lanksweert back in Brussels who was Swaters partner.
I have some photos somewhere of several BBLM's being built at the Ferrari repair facility (?) in Modena circa 1983 or so, when I visited with Jacques Swaters but did not note the chassis numbers at the time. I remember seeing some other customer cars like a 275 GTB/4 etc.
You mean Gaetano Florini's Assistenza Clienti at Viale Trento Trieste in the city of Modena, the factory customer service center, where the BB LM's were assembled. Marcel Massini
