Targa Top Leather Pull

Does anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it? I have an old leather belt that has the same thickness and width as the original pull but don’t know how to get that big black rivet off. Maybe upholstery shop or leather shoe repair?

The leather pull is ripped right from where the rivet is.

 

Ok, you think he has this parts?

 

Ok I went to our local saddlery today, and they asked me to leave the latch and the broken piece of the leather pull with them, they said they can make me one with the the right if not similar rivet. I also gave them my old leather belt as it is thin enough just like the original in case they want to use it, it will be done next week so stay tune.

No but I gave them the original broken piece and told them what it’s use for, hopefully they will make me something strong and last forever.

Boca, last week I went ahead and ordered the leather pull set #FRLP-B from ICP and it came today. It look very close the original or it may even be the original (pic). The only thing is, the fasteners that came with it are silver but I will replace that with the black ones as the saddlery has them. I have yet to pick up the one I had made from the saddlery shop but I will post pic a soon as get them.

 

Hi Robert! Besides the one I got from ICP which looks like the original, (pic above) except they supplied it with silver rivets, I’m still waiting for the saddler shop to make them for me, any day now. I know one thing for sure they have the correct black rivet, When I go to pick up mine, I’m going to ask or buy some extra black rivets.

 

UPDATE:
Ok so after I left my latch and the broken leather pull to the saddlery for them to replicate for two weeks, they were unable to make me the leather pull piece but they do have the correct look black rivet but instead of rivet, it’s a “snap” on type, at least that’s what they call it. Pics shows what the snaps looks like and installed with the new leather pull I bought from Italian Car Parts and compared to the original one, pretty close I would say.
