UPDATE I was able to get some copies of the book in time for Retromobile. (see photo) I will be receiving a delivery of 'standard' books this Friday 15th Feb. (It seems that the delivery I received on Friday 1st was a rush delivery in time for Retromobile, but the rest of the books will not be finished until this week) So, I will be doing a lot of packing over the weekend and the books will be going to the shipping company next Monday. Apologies for the delay, but I misunderstood the delivery situation. I am hoping to have the leather books by the end of the month. These take longer as the slip-cases have to be made by hand. Thank you all for your patience. Nathan
Not a Ferrari book, but still collectible. They also have a Standard Edition for $65: https://petrolicious.com/shop/black-and-gold?fbclid=IwAR1WbvS2OpRTmFb941W_wS0w0uSYLg2u8wFQxp6eFqA5-8sKlmxeYahvus0&style=publishers-edition-mario-andretti

Image Unavailable, Please Login I splurged for the Andretti autographed deluxe edition. Fabulous book. Got pit passes for the 1970 Sebring 12 Hours from the Schmidt's Beer Special Europa team and have been a fan of the marque ever since.
I've finished reading the Great Cars volumes on the 250 GT SWB and 250 GTO. Can some one give me a lead on a similar quality book on the Ferrari F40?
A similar book on the F40 doesn't exist. The 'great car series' gives an insight on one particular chassis and background on the series/model. There are many good books on the F40, one which comes to mind is this in german text, from 'Motor Buch Verlag': Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Maarten, however my German isn't that good to ensure a proper read. Do you have any English books on the F40 providing me with insight or perhaps a restoration I can read and look at? Given your location: alvast bedankt !
One which still can be found for 'small change' , the F40 book by Mark Hughes Gives an nice insight on the car, no restoration book though. Book is available in several languages. Sorry for the picture, stole it from the internet Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are two others that might be helpful, Ferrari F40 by David Sparrow/John Tipler and a book on the F40 LM in the Cavalleria series by Pierre Dieudonne, Pierre Carrieri and Jean Sage both are great books.
Today i've received the long awaited book by Tim Considine, 'Twice around the Clock' , the yanks at Le Mans. The book is MASSIVE! In fact, there are 3 books in a slipcase covering the period 1923 till 1979. It is printed on an high quality paper and the book also proofs to be an entertaining read! I never knew the French could make an excellent epoxy glue by example... A few pictures to give an impression:
I received my copy on Friday, from Horton's (excellent service by Andy Massen). From what I've seen and read sofar, these books are amongst the best. Both, text and picture reproduction are first rate. Highly recommended!
A nice book I picked up recently at an estate sale for $2! A man many tifosi will recognize. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you for sharing. Do you have the part number and catalog/print number to share? I thank you in advance.
Book dedicated to the French pilot S. Garant. Only in French. Published by Editions du Palmier, it should be available in a few weeks. https://www.editions-palmier.com/qui-se-souvient-de-sylvain-garant,fr,4,P229.cf Translate : Sylvain Garant waited to have solidly sat his company before embarking on the car race. It was not until after his forties that he could finally devote himself to it. But once launched, it's a nice revenge he took running with bulimia in rally, hill climb and circuit ... But not with any cars! Very quickly it was with the best Ferrari that he did his apprenticeship. It was sometimes difficult, but his rule of behavior was: to have fun and ensure the show. He was not an ultra-talented pilot at first, but he was perseverant and courageous. Although the bodywork sometimes suffered, he quickly progressed to reach a good level, close to the best. Another interesting side of the character, was his merry and friendly behavior that earned him to be surrounded by many friends, usually good drivers. He left us in 1993 but he is still very present in the spirit of those who knew him. Many people still remember Sylvain Garant! He had impressive results with his GTO # 3769GT, and also with the 250 SWB # 2937GT. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another book that should be available early April : Ferrari 250 LM - the remarkable history of 6313 Published in "the exceptional cars series", the sister series of the "great cars collection". Presentation : The Ferrari 250 LM was born of controversy. Enzo Ferrari wanted this compact mid-engined coupe to qualify as a GT car for world championship racing. The FIA, motor sport’s rule-makers, disagreed and this new model, of which just 32 were made, was forced to run as a sports-prototype in 1964 and 1965. To everyone’s surprise, the LM was to dominate the Le Mans 24 Hour race in 1965. 6313, entered by Ecurie Francorchamps, led for much of the race and finished second after a tyre failure in the closing stages. It was the high-spot of a busy season for a car that, 54 years later, is well-known as a successful contender in historic car racing. Key content Ecurie Francorchamps, which fielded its cars in bright yellow Belgian racing colours, was one of the most loyal and successful private Ferrari teams. 6313 was its third 250 LM and one of the last to be built. It was driven at Le Mans in 1965 by Pierre Dumay and Gustave Gosselin, and led the race through Saturday night and Sunday morning, only to suffer a tyre blow-out with less than three hours to the finish, allowing the NART 250 LM of Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory to take victory. For many years the identity of 6313 was confused with its team-mate 6023. Detective work by Ferrari specialist Keith Bluemel, consultant on this book, clarified the situation. This book unravels the mystery. Author James Page covers the genesis of the 250 LM and its development, its technical details and specification, and the ongoing row about its homologation as a GT car. The racing career of 6313 is recalled in detail and all of its drivers in 1965 are profiled. The book is profusely illustrated with period photographs and documents, and a gallery of studio photographs of the car as it is today. Image Unavailable, Please Login
To stay on the 250 LM topic, Arnaud Meunier announced the publication of his book on 250 LM s/m 5895. Image Unavailable, Please Login
