Thank you for the information and details Alberto, much appreciated I bought it for my bb365 Maybe not 100% adéquate for this earlier model but most probably the best I can find Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us Jacques Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk
Albert, my dealer indicated that there is no luggage set available for the upcoming pista . I really don’t see why is that. Do you have an idea ? Thanks Jacques
there will be one later. I know a lot about that question but I cannot write in public as there are confidential info that cannot be shared. Please write me in private. ciao

Mauro Schedoni turns 77 today: happy birthday to a guy that can look at his past with pride. ciao (Picture Copyright: Alberto Mantovani) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes indeed, he can. Rgds (My birthday will be in a week from now, I will not turn 77 yet, and I can't say I can look at my past with pride; in fact, I can only look at my past and say "My, how time flies")
it happens that you find a top conditions 308 Schedoni luggage set, never used, still with the cardboards inside and with no pieces missing (all the locks, keyholders and so on). Perfect conditions! Even officially customized (by Ferrari, through Schedoni) with the "B. A." lettering, the owners name initials (doctor B. A., from Modena, Italy, passed few years ago). Yes, all with carboards inside, none ever used, but… ...one of the two big bags sat in a water leak zone for years and years in a basement, where it was abandoned. This happened in November 2017. That unlucky big suitcase was in terrible conditions, really bad. I'm now pleased to show you the result of this very long restore, inside and outside, that still keep all (zero replacement) the original leather and accessories (only the cardboards were lost, and the vynil inside was replaced): this "barn find" luggage set is ready to shine again. I think it's the longest restore ever, due to the time to find the original interior vynil and the correct way to fix it without replacing the leather nor anything outside Schedoni never dies! ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
this was that suitcase on November 25th, 2017, the day I got that set: the word "disaster" is not enough to describe the conditions it was. Cuoio Schedoni is really strong. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
WOW, that is a real restoration! Did you undertake it or have the factory refurbish it? Tell us more!
Same for me: I remember Alberto showed me these pictures last year; now I would like to know how it was refurbished, and by whom... Rgds
Schedoni factory helped me a lot, as my status of friend and big collector was awarded by a bonus: they helped me to find the correct interior vynil layer. After finding the vynil model the problems were not solved, as it's no more available in such color nor finish (Peccary, while the supplier today just produce it in the smooth surface model). And so then it was painted with the correct color (this set has a bit darker interior color than usual, so we matched the other suitcases interior color) and embossed/printed with the correct Peccari design. Then the suitcase was opened and the bent and old carboards inside the leather was replaced by a new one with the same measures. That above is more or less what the specialist did: I don't know how he refurbished the leather (that is his own ability we cannot share), but I repeat that no new leather, also the inner belts are the original ones, just cleaned. Cuoio Schedoni is very strong: here below how it looked in my kitchen just cleaned a bit by me with Leatherique the same day I got it, just one hour later than those terrible pictures above. The interior was still destroyed and the suitcase hadn't its correct shape yet, but much better than the terrible conditions It had just an hour before. He is the one contacted by Lamborghini Factory Museum to replace the first ever Lamborghini LP400 interior: you can see the green Countach LP400 Chassis No. 1120001 (prototype #1) in the background. An excellent interior specialist, one of the top we have here in Italy. ciao
Really interesting demonstration of know-how, Alberto; thanks. (I also use "Leatherique" to condition the Schedoni leather of the luggage sets from time to time...) Rgds
Thanks, Bruno. I have to correct what I wrote: the damaged structural carboard (removed and replaced) was under the interior lining (fully replaced) and attached to the suitcase leather ("Cuoio"). The interior leather belts were jsut cleaned, like the accessories (label holder, keyholder) and handles. It's Amazing how strong and durable that Cuoio Schedoni is: its full name is Cuoio Bottalato Schedoni. ciao
nobody here told me that in the redone interior of that suitcase there are two visible rivets that hadn't to be visible: the interior will be redone again to be perfect. No hurry! ciao
I already posted this in the 458-488-F8 page, but I repeat it here. Portofino, Pista and F8 today haven't an official luggage set: it's unavailable nor visible or showed anywhere. From July there will be available an official Ferrari by Schedoni Modular luggage set for Portofino, Pista and F8. As the set is modular, it will just have a different combo (and probably number) of suitcases for each car. The same will be for the other future models. As you know, Schedoni didn't supply the 488 luggage set (it's produced by another firm) and at present they are just supplying the Lusso luggage set. It's a nice comeback! ciao
Thank you Albert. I always get a luggage set when possible for my cars and the upcoming modular set is good news although I would have preferred specific sets as in the old good days...
me too. A specific set is another thing, as it's no more a bunch of suitcases: It's a part of THAT car, like the seats or the doors. ciao
Great restoration story. I’m also very excited to be getting my set soon. Hopefully no restoration will be needed! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
