thanks for the photos Nathan; please furnish my copy with cover photo of the 575 in blu Tour de France with 19" 3 piece composite wheels and Fiorano handling package ;-)
Leave it to DHL- my book was supposed to be delivered yesterday to Ohio only to find it has been put on hold. Somewhere between Heathrow and NY, it has come up MIA. I will let the process work itself out hopefully. The bourbon will have to be refilled for its arrival
It may be a customs matter. I've yet to have a positive experience with DHL....including $4000 worth of Connelley leather that went missing for a while and my set of On Track books. Both were anxiety-filled episodes. DHL just don't have it together in the States.
I hate DHL. They have screwed up just about everything of mine they have ever touched. Lost, late, bogus charges, etc.
Hi Nathan, Got my signed copy of your wonderful book. It is more beautiful than what I was expecting. Cheers Pete
I got the same update from DHL saying my book was "on hold." From what I can tell, somewhere in NY. I'd guess the entire shipment to the US is there. Frustrating
DHL - if any of you don't get your book, or it's taking too long, then let me know and I will chase up DHL from here. Nathan
Looks like mine left NY late last night and arrived in Cinti at 5:00am this morning so it appears it is on its way!
Just received my copy and it is beautifully presented, great detail and of course- many great pictures. Can’t wait to start at page 1. I have a late 575M and learned in the back of the book in the chassis chronology that mine was the 53rd last standard M to be built. HGTC’s and SA’s only after that. Thank you Nathan for sharing your knowledge and writing craft on these great cars
Taz, my wife and I have sailed Southampton to New York on the Queen May 2 several times. Cunard offers a wonderful service whereby one can ship a valise with clothing intended only for wear aboard the QM2 avoiding the need to carry that clothing while visiting elsewhere in Britain and Europe. DHL is the carrier and they collect the packed valise at our home and deliver to Cunard at the pier in Southampton so that it is in one's stateroom when one arrives on board the ship. We've done this satisfactorily several times. Until the last time. When DHL all but destroyed my very expensive TUMI valise, tore off one of the wheels, damaged the zipper. Not fun. Cunard gave me a written 'acknowledgement' of the damage - as if I needed that - but no recompense.
Nathan- DHL sent me an e-mail that the book would be here Wednesday. Then they sent me another one saying for sure by end of day Thursday. Friday, made it, hurrah. DHL is basically pretty much out of the domestic US delivery business here. Whenever I order anything from the UK, I insist on paying extra to have it sent UPS or Fed-Ex. Saves a lot of heartburn. Seth- Sounds about right. Gets frustrating. Book is beautiful and much larger than I expected. I thought it would be the size of the Boxer book.
