Hybrid is garbage. This is about top down regulations by socialist tree huggers. Ferrari NA V12 has more than enough performance for street driving, and collectively impacts the Earth as much as a field of farting cows. In fact I'd wager there is more hot CO2 emissions coming out of politicians' mouths than all Ferrari V12 tailpipes combined (even though CO).
.....the additional kilos of weight will also be supplementary. The fact is Ferrari aren't doing it because they want to. They are being forced to.
Ours just reached the port at FNA and apparently it will be a MY 2019, but I haven't heard of anyone having an allocation and ordering a car in 2019.
Here a pics of a brand new GTC4 Lusso V12 with new tech paket including surround cameras and ACC. Lusso V12 can still be ordered in Germany Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ACC = Automatic Cruise Control, or a radar based cruise control that keeps a car in the same speed as the car in front of it.
Hi @Caeruleus11 I was told you cannot, I was offered the bundle on my incoming T and asked if I could add later but they said not right now. I didn't add the bundle but a part of me now wishes I did as it will be standard on all Lusso's moving forward.
I’ve got other cars with ACC, lane change warning auto braking, etc and the current Lusso is a blessed relief.
100% agree. The extra cameras maybe useful in tight situations but you can keep the rest. I might irresponsibly ponder that the point of a Ferrari is not keeping a regular distance from the car in front but rather of being the car in front.* * road conditions, traffic volume and local speed limits allowing OF COURSE
As long as the power advantage overcomes the weight penalty, all is good. Up to a point of course. On the other hand, there non-hybrid white elephants, like Bugattis.
Err, no. extra weight really is ****ing felt through the corners and under braking. If Ferrari goes carbon monocoque + hybrid for the next gen cars there should be much of a weight penalty compared to todays cars.
We know that Ferrari keeps their carbon tubs for their halo hypercars. But Ferraris were never lightweights, like Lotuses. They were predominantly about the engine. As long as weight doesn't escalate uncontrollably, there is nothing to fear about hybridisation.
There may not be a weight penalty if they put smaller engines in. I know I've always wanted a 4 cylinder ferrari with a bunch of batteries... now that's the dream right there. /sarcasm
Me as well, and when I inquired they said yes you can get 360 cameras but you need the entire you tech bundle - I am not a fan of radars and front cameras like on the Porsche but at first I said yes then I had a change of heart. Anyhow I am sure it will be great but for now I have passed or if they delay my build long enough it might just go in by default as its supposed to be part of April and on builds as standard. Take care.. back home tomorrow! Been an amazing European tour and my TM experience will be a bar set that will be hard to exceed again. I almost want to order another Lusso(v12) and make it TM, I feel like you can do so much with that magnificent interior to work with.
Thanks Joe. I feel the same about ACC or even cruise control. I know so many people who love cruise control, but I never use it. And I surely don't need a fancier system that I never use. But that's just me. And one day my BMW's ACC actually saved my butt- I could not see a truck had panic stopped in front of a giant truck that I was behind. The BMW system was monitoring the cars in front of the truck. I would have possibly slammed into that truck. So these systems do have a value I guess...
Very fair point! I am all over the map and now seeing if I can get it added, doesn't look as bad as I thought.
