I watched two games, it's not bad, really, for teams having limited practices.
What did you all think? (If you watched)

PLEASE don't beat on the game itself - it's new, guys have not played together much.

The rule changes that are different from the NFL make good sense to me...

I felt they were entertaining games. One of the coaches noted that the speed was around 80% of the NFL, but it didn't feel slow on the TV.

It was fun to see Steve Spurrier on the sidelines coaching again, and his team responded with a win.

I like the elimination of the one-point PAT, and eliminating kickoffs definitely speeded up the game. (After all, with most NFL kickoffs winding up in the end zone, the teams usually start at the 25-yard-line anyway.)

I watched parts of two games and agree they were ntertaining. Certainly enough to watch a few more. And with no PATs or kickoffs, the pace of play seemed much quicker.

I did not watch, but I listened to the two sports talk radio stations talk about it. Overall they had a favorable opinion.

They played the audio of a replay official reviewing a catch in the end zone. It was very interesting to hear it. I know the NFL would never allow that to go on air, but I wish they would. Initially I guess she thought it wasn't a catch, but after looking at further reviews, decided it was a catch. One group of talking heads thought that was hilarious. I thought it was spot on. How many times have we looked at a replay and thought it was, or wasn't a catch, only to later change our mind once we saw it again and again and with different camera angles.

I saw the play in question. At first look it looked like the receiver lost control of the ball and it hit the ground. But the key was that his elbow hit the ground before that happened, at which point the play was over, and it was ruled a touchdown.

Plus, someone 'in the booth' can call penalties or egregious mistakes involving fumbles, catches, interceptions, I think anything.
    That is a game-changer, literally.

How was the officiating? Because it doesn't matter how good a sport product is, if the officiating is horrendous then so becomes the product (look no further than the NFL)

    America needs this.
I enjoyed the game I watched Salt Lake vs Arizona.
They have some pretty big names for Coaches.
    Hopefully it'll take off.

Can you believe that in their second week of operation they ran out of money and couldn't pay their players?!

These are supposed to be experienced business people, e.g.Bill Polian. Even a high school graduate starting a business knows he has to survive at least 2 years without showing a profit. Good grief, what idiots.

Probably tried to beat the XFL to market. I think having Oliver luck as commish could be better.

Who the hell is running the financials? Investors not do enough homework?

That right there scared me, too.
    HUGE RED warning flags.

Wasn't Oliver Luck an AD at a University? He MIGHT be OK.

I don't think it is a case of beating someone to the market, whoever started first
    would be accused of that.

If the NFL Network is airing some of their games, is there a working relationship between the AAF and the NFL? That might help them survive.

That's why I was surprised Tom Dundon plowed $250 mil into the league. The only thing I heard was the AAF did own some technology that allowed people to bet real time during a game, such as betting on every play. That has to appeal to real degenerate gamblers. Reportedly that technology is worth some money.

Many years ago my old business partner was just such a person. We would go to a Red Sox game and he wanted to bet on every pitch, strike or ball. And playing a round of golf with him? Fougeddaboudit!

One thing I really don't like is the rinky-dink uniforms.
Too many colors, some are close, there was a game Saturday I almost could not tell the teams apart.
And it might be hard to know who is playing because they don't put the team names or cities anywhere
on the uniforms, and they need that, until these teams, this league, gets more built up.

    PS - 'B/R Live' is www.bleacherreport.com online.

you have to go to www.aaf.com, and on the right side it will say 'upcoming games',
and in the top-right corner of each game a little moniker of the network the game is
on is there. The moniker is small, pasting it below blew it up huge, I don't know why.

I've tried to watch the Birmingham Iron games. Very boring with all the dropped passes. Hopefully, it will improve as they practice more.
