Like I said I believe the Germans. Having a German dad taught me that integrity is their thing then again that was before the VW émission scandal lol;)

There was never a time that I hated the Countach or Testarossa. Although my first Testarossa was a pos.

This is ours. This will help a little but the muffler is pretty much by the dyno, a placebo. Besides I like quiet cars so the factory muffler is perfect.

Look at the undercoating. Its all over the control arms, control arm mounts, shocks, springs. That is how the blind guys at the factory blew it on. It would also be all over the oil pan and trans housing but that has been cleaned off to some extent during servicing.

It has 7500 original owner miles. Below are more pics. Net net the muffler guy has done Aventador’s and 911’s. But he was in fact intimidated by the TR. Will keep looking.

Its a great looking car but someone went to a great deal of work to get rid of the undercoating. I work on them and it can be messy when you work on them but leaving it has very little aesthetic downside and a lot of functional upside.

That looks like a clean job. You removed the cats as well as pre-cats? Did they do it all from the bottom or does the entire bumper assembly have to come off? Wondering what I should expect to spend.

Also when you said you like quiet cars I assume this is the quieter than keeping cat only and replacing muffler with either an x pipe or smaller muffler?

Who is they? This has been my business for 40+ years. Labor is a few hundred. The Hyper Flow parts were a couple of thousand as I recall.

The valence is off. The bumper only comes off to remove the engine.

With a factory muffler no cats makes very little noise difference. No cats with a Tubi or Capristo is pretty loud.

You really made a change in technology. The TR is a great car for the time it was built and the Hurican is a great car in this time period. Nothing looks like a TR and even though it is a lot of styling I love it. I have a Tubi on my exhaust and I believe Capristo would be a good one as well. I have Capriso's on several of my cars. I hope you enjoy the experience.

    Anymac - fine looking car.

    Unsolicited comment:
the car is so pristeen and ‘new’ you are likely to run into niggly issues as you start to drive it. Don’t let them mar your love for the car. These cars are reasonably bulletproof after the non-use details are resolved. From what I can see, it is a beautiful example.

    Congratulations again!

The only thing I see that strikes me as unusual, is the ‘clean’ area between your front A-arms. I need to look at mine once more, but I think(?) the entire area was sprayed with undercoating. I don’t recall for sure.....

The two short video clips of the catless Fuchs just sound wicked. Nice to hear a driver that isn't afraid of the gas pedal as well. I don't understand car videos, especially supposed exhaust videos, where a driver wanders about like a frightened grandmother.

Can you tell me who that dealer is with the low prices on Capristo? Maybe message me if you don't want to say the name.

    Thanks

Imo, any Testarossa or 512TR/M should always be driven over 3000 revs :) Not cars for chickens ….

Where can I acquire the pre-cat straight pipes you have? I like that they are coated.

Coated? With what? They are polished. All it does is drive the price up because polishing them is a lot more work than making them. Cannot see them so no point to the polish. They discolor with use.

Hyper Flow. Terrible cats but the bypass pipes are good.

It looked like they were ceramic or jet hot coated.
