Actually, the S is the only one I haven't driven. It's the same engine as the GTS minus a few HP and a bit softer on the road. Throw a Cobb Access Port at it and you're not far of Turbo power. The "base" 4cyl EA888 is actually not a bad, but the lower torque is noticeable. The diesel is actually really good to drive as it's got plenty of torque, but there's the dieselgate stigma (and it's an Audi engine). As you said, the 6cyl petrol engines are at least Porsche designed if that matters to you. My main point was that for me, not really wanting an SUV in the first place, at least it is interesting to drive unlike the rest of the field I drove.

the primary school at the end of my street is a great barometer of the suburban car market. 10 years ago you couldn't move for Volvo XC90's, then it was Cayennes, then Rangie Evoques. Today there's at least 3 Macan's doing the morning drop off btw one of my neighbours bought a lovely Zagato Aston DB11 earlier this year, uses it as a daily driver, I've yet to see it on a flat top!
https://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/2018-shannons-melbourne-winter-classic-auction/HAFT2E963F0ANBCE/ Don’t know if that’s a good price or not.. but l do remember when 356’s in general were much cheaper than that
90hp of dak-dak gutlessness, redlined at 4500, evil handling, more expensive than an e-type in 1962; how the cluck did they ever become popular?
Although he's a paid Porsche driver, I'm hoping he has enough credibility and ethics to not be a shill.
