Most annoying YouTuber there is—-spits video for cash , makes bank like according to social blade 1mm a year.... annoys me highly for his poor reviews and lack of editing quality but good for him I guess VV is way worse! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like this is the car that sat at Miller Motorcars for almost 2 years despite being the cheapest Aperta listed, and for good reason. It's an odd spec. It had a single thin black stripe (which the new owner has since covered in a new vinyl stripe seen in this video), has a personalized dedication plate to the previous owner's name, no shields, and no contrast stitching of any sort. It also was loaded with carbon fiber in the rear but then had no carbon fiber in the front. The poorly done vinyl stripe and trashy instagram decal don't exactly add to the visual appeal either. I wish he was offered a better spec, but I think he made some good points and reviewed it fairly. Good thing spec doesn't impact driving dynamics!
Does the front stripe on this car go from black to blue in the back? I thought I was just hungover when I was watching the video this morning...
shmee and doug are both pure car geeks and I'm not sure what people find offensive. I personally like doug because his reviews of cars are the most in-depth available
He's obviously no Chris Harris but I like Doug, although the "Doug Score" makes absolutely no sense most of the times. Tim "Shmee" isn't too bad but I ran into him at the Ferrari booth at the Geneva Auto Show, wasn't friendly at all. Salomondrin's content are pure garbage!
What annoys me about VV, shmee, salomondrin is the pretending that they got rich from the car game. Their views don’t support the car they lease or buy. They all have different streams of income. Good for them though, but vv’s dad is a multi millionaire, Ahmed’s family own factory, salomondrin real estate etc... Doesn’t take anything away from their skills but the fake ness annoys me. Doug is himself but I am annoyed by him (voice mostly) and how now he really tries to milk his channel for money and I don’t see passion in it no more. He has gone full circle to me at least Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Really? He doesn’t have one video mentioning it. I’d be very curious. And for the other they rather not discuss it, VV is a smart guy but comes from money, Salomondrin -same. Mr JWW same. Again doesn’t take away from their skills. Seen through glass is upfront about it and is more or less self made. U don’t get even a lease on a senna or aventador without serious financial means. As an example I went to lease a gt4c lusso, msrp 379k, they wanted 5,4K a month +35k down. That’s not average joe money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think you are drastically underestimating YouTube revenue. I know multiple content creators in the 500k-1M sub range and every video they upload generates anywhere from $2,500-$5,000. Of course VV and JWW come from money but they are bringing in a good chunk of money from YouTube.
My new favorite channel is the car guys. Fantastic reviews from passion passionate guys.. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs73OB7y7xFhktZ8JU4TDCg
I personally know these you tubers make 1-3 mil a year. More than enough to keep their car habit. Endorsements also pay for a lot of their cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No Numbers support it though. The max social blade has demuro make is 1million. Amazing but not enough. I know personally YouTuber that are very successful and I can show you that 1 million views doesn’t get you more than 7k per million. Shmee and VV do not get that many views. They clearly have money coming from elsewhere, specially VV. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
These guys have other income than youtube but their connections came from being on youtube. I know some car manufacturers definitely pay them for these endorsements. Hence why salomondrin is hated by all the car companies....
That I believe- his content is also poor and very clickbait just like VV. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Doug goes in depth on features and quirks which are sometimes very insightful. Take for example his F40 review....where else would you get that! I found it helpful. As for his insight into driving and performance, not so much but I don’t warch him for that so it’s ok. Two of those other guys noted above have the worlds most annoying voices. I give them props for trying and wish them the best.
Doug and sxgmee are actually the best reviews. Who gives a s*** what someguy subjectively tells you about how it drives? Pretty much every car has large amounts of people telling you it's awesome or sucks. It's a modern exotic -- it's very good. All I want to see in a review are close-ups and footage of features. I'd rather see someone operate the trunk oro point out the Bluetooth sucks than hear them masturbate to their own car fetish. Watch a Chris Harris review. You could substitute any car named into the review and the review would make just as much sense and be just as believable. There's nothing terribly useful in such enthusiastic, driving reviews. Unless the car has actually significant problems, it's pretty much irrelevant. Most of the complaints are sensationalized as well and inaccurate. Putting much weight on subjective car reviews is like putting a lot of weight on someone else's porn selection.
Though I would agree I think Harris is amazing. He is a true journalist and a car expert. I respect his opinion more than dough but wouldn’t mind Doug’s following and YouTube revenu6 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
His reviews getting increasing tedious as they get longer, and are all too frequently padded out with non-sensual ramblings apropos nothing of real substance. A case in point, his comments on the door locks, side markets and repeater lights, then further nonsense about the rear fog lights and their position (FYi Doug, European law dictates the height of their position, AND for record, they are NOT for use in rainy conditions !!) The clue is in their name Doug !!) Spend more time driving the dam thing and less time pontificating over details no one cares about ...
Doug's reviews do have some informative value. He allots a great deal of attention to the features of the car which most reviews do not. And his driving reactions are purely based on road experience and the manner in which the car performs under those conditions, which I estimate applies to 90% of super car owners. Ultimately, his driving impressions are substantuvely accurate if not overly discerning.
