    Hello,

    Please elaborate.

I am familiar with the glove box in the dash but am not familiar with a "rear" glove box.

Push the box in a bit then push the button. Happens on both mine and my Dads 430 Spiders.

Mine opens on it's own if I go over 7000 rpm. LOL

The glove box between the seats gets stuck. I hit the button and I hear a click but the glove box doesn't fall open.

Like Dave said, a lot like an airline luggage compartment. Push down with one hand, hold the button with the other one, and release the door while holding the button down.

The 430 has a rear glove box? And a glove box between the seats??

I don't know how I missed those. I'm going to have to look more carefully when I get home.

I'm only aware of a passenger side dash glove box.

I have a similar problem, I considered disassembling it and trying to oil/grease the components but I haven't done so yet. In my case if you keep your finger on the "open" button it eventually, very slowly, opens up just enough to allow you to open it fully manually.

I'm sure that was a factory option as most 360s don't have one.

Same problem. I give it a little bump with my elbow, hit the button again and sometimes it opens, other times I have to jiggle it.

FYI, I took mine apart and discovered that the gas strut that pushes the compartment door open seemed to be out of juice. I have purchased a replacement strut and will post if it corrects the no opening issue when button is pushed. I have verified that the actuator (Number 18 below) functions correctly so I can't think of anything else that could be preventing it from functioning correctly. Strut is number 12 in diagram below, Ferrari part number 68418700

Let me know how you get on - I have the same on my 360 spider. Is the mechanism easy to remove?

Three hex or torx (I can't remember which) screws in the inside base of glove box, comes out in 5 minutes. The strut appears to just snap on and off the posts as I don't see any other parts in diagram that secure it in place. I'll let you know if it fixes the issue

I have the same rear glove box on my F430 Spider, and the same issue with sometimes it wont open after pushing the open button switch.

The root cause seems to be dead gas strut. I havent done anything to mine yet as its a low priority for me.

Update...Received strut but it was dead too! I suspect it was maybe old new stock and had lost juice over time sitting on shelf. Russ at Ferr parts is a gentleman and is sending me a new strut. Hopefully that one will do the trick. I'll update after the install

Ok, follow up...The strut is a passive strut that doesn't stay extended at rest like a bonnet or boot strut. It simply slows the snap like opening from the springs located on both sides of door. I suppose that is why on ricambi website it is referred to as a "decelerator." Lol. My original strut had a bunch of lithium grease on it that gummed it up and essentially made it lock. The replacement strut works great, although it is a PITA to pop on if you try doing so through the hole where glove box is. Much easier I'm sure if you dismantle the panels behind seat, but I didn't feel like doing that

So based on this if the strut is removed or "disconnected" will the door pop open?

Yes. I can't attach videos because file size is too big, but with strut removed door will snap open and works fine like that, it just doesn't open elegantly. Lol
