Yes indeed, from MB. It appears in an article I wrote for "Ferrari" magazine, the magazine of the FOC GB. I love the reflection of "Ferrari" in the windscreen, though my son was upset he couldn't see himself in the passenger seat!
Finally, after a new search: 2 last photos, the first with my smartphone and the other found in the compact of my wife (a little better for your son !) I also wrote a short article for Cavallino magazine, published in issue 227 in pages 14 and 16. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This was a superb event and it reminded me I hadn't been to the area for a long time. I had so much fun that I returned for the month of November and the San Miniato truffle festival. I stumbled on an old Alfa shop in Chianti that was actually a pit stop on the original Mille Miglia! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Etienne, MB sent me one of my car leaving the factory (see post #140), but if you have any others I should be most grateful if you could let me see them. Thankyou. Best wishes, John
It is hard to believe a full year has passed. Here are a couple more pics of this special event, this time with friends and people I have only known through F-Chat. Meeting and spending time with them in person was an incredible experience. Ralf, the owner of Corbani's Dino, threw me the key's to take it for a drive. He is a super guy, and John's soul lives on in this amazing Dino. This Dino should be an inspiration to all. Andrew, and his daughter Emma, where super fun to hang out with. The road trip they took, has to be a once in a life time experience. To travel for several weeks fitting everything they had on their journey in the Dino trunk was incredible. Even more so considering the spares that were also tucked in back there. Marcel is one of the most amazing people I have ever met, forgetting about Dino's. He has a photographic memory that is crazy. Yes he tracks and documents cars, but he has this info all stored into his head and can speak about vintage Ferrari serial numbers and their history off the cuff and it is nothing short of amazing. Almost like Rain Man, but far cooler. I don't think much could surpass hanging out in the Classiche department with him. I don't have pics, but meeting Andreas, Kevin (whose Dino is FAR COOLER in person than Pictures capture), Goetz, and others while in Maranello is something that will never be forgotten. Matthias - I don't think words can describe what you pulled off. It was amazing! To be able to celebrate Dino like this was a once in a life time experience. I can not thank you enough. Great post. It was indeed a weekend that none of us there will ever forget. And my car features in 2 of your pics and my son and I in one of them. Thanks for that
Thanks Shawn, more great photos and nice one of us with Marcel. So many cool things happened that week, it was great to see you and your wife.
Matthias still is THE TRUE HERO!! What an incredible super meet it was and it was brutally hot as well. And so great to meet lots of fantastic Dino lovers, hey Shawn, so very kool meeting you and Andrew as well! We all had a sensational time. Thank you Matthias for what you did for all of us. Ferrari really should give you a gold medal. You are an inspiration. This meeting is absolutely unforgettable and I have attended over 500 Ferrari meetings all over the planet since 1972. True, brutally Hot; 97F and 60% humidity, Matthias gathered 176 Dinos in one place. Fantastico PS - please don't forget the Grand Canyon in November. Give us a chance to try for that #1 spot too!
Fast Forward to the COVID days and we are washing our hands a lot. I look for some soap... and find this memory ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
