Anyone have recommendation for Ferrari leather cleaning restore? Central NJ is optimal. I have a dye job that is peeling after cleaning it, I was not aware it was dyed.

Contact Peter the Upholsterer at MAXIMILIAN CLASSICS, (908) 234-2700...they are the upholstery shop in the basement of ‘The Stable’ classic car dealers in Gladstone, NJ. They do very nice work.

Much obliged, I called and the number but it is no longer working, MAXIMILIAN CLASSICS redirects to "The Stable Ltd." car sales apparently.

Maybe I'll have the seats reupholstered if anyone knows a solid upholsterer.

I just did some digging and found out that Peter Maximilian, the upholsterer, passed away suddenly this past June. He was a true craftsman and a genuinely nice guy. May he rest in peace.

I cleaned my seats and they started peeling. Turns out it was some ancient leather protection package. So shop removed most of it then got them back to almost new. Very supple and they smell and feel like leather now, they felt like pleather before since the protection was some silicone/latex layer. Wrong color too.... It was a first class shoddy treatment with off the shelf standard color that was poorly prepped. I used Gyeon Q2M Leather Cleaner and the crap came right off after who known how many years of sitting on there, probably 25.

$500 a seat picked up and dropped off took 3 days. Simply awesome they legitimately look 8 months old.

Had them quote me $2000 a seat for new GT4 seats.

Seemed reasonable, but I'm still looking.

I emailed them a while back with pics but never heard back. In my case I wanted to try restoration first, it was all I needed thankfully under that crappy coating was very good leather.

How well does the color match the rest of the interior? or is there a significant difference due to sun & age?

it matches much better, the leather protective coating was too beige and the seats never really matched.

I recall I did call them and they only did tops now, it's a bit fuzzy now but I did check them too and they said no.

Just dropped off my toolkit there to have the handle redone. They took my son and me on a tour of the facility. Wow is all I can say. A couple of F50's in for major service, many 1960's Ferrari's getting ground up restorations and even a 288 GTO getting restored. If you want top quality "restoration" or leather work done in the tristate area, these guys are the go to place.

It’s funny (ha ha) that you posted this. I just had them repair the strap for my toolkit on the 458 two weeks ago. It’s less of a toolkit and more of a cheap vinyl pouch on the 458 but the leather strap is nice.

Glad it worked out for you.

Best F-car shop in my area and fortunately, it's only 7 miles from my house. My boys and I have been going over on Saturdays to hang out for the past several years. It's like a car candy store. Always something interesting there. Bought my Scud from them and they've serviced it for the past 7 years. They are also the oldest factory approved body repair shop in the country. Their restorations are top of the top. Factory flies to them to inspect and document restorations. Deep factory contacts. Onofrio Triarsi, the owner, also owns two Ferrari dealerships in FL with his son and daughter. F. of Central FL and F. of Tampa. Onofrio Jr won the Ferrari challenge series at least once. 'Nuff said.
