Sure Sam............... Will do later this evening. Very easy programing to do in Aluminum. Fastens and holds up quite well. Sorry do not remember exact cost. From my knowledge, in small quantity, aprox $45.00 each.

    Godspeed!

Well............sort of! Thanks, as I mentioned quite a while back. A quantity of the clips can be made through quality vendors. From what I do, I know who they are. Happily, I would hand over the STL file along with a SolidWorks model from which the STL was created for someone who wanted to invest in the quantity order. https://www.stratasysdirect.com/ is one of the quality vendors. We have their machines. ABS or ABS plus printed parts will work fine and is what I produced the first ones with.

On a side note I have had the opportunity to have some design pieces Direct Metal laser Sintered (DMLS) and it is incredible. No inherent notch sensitivity, stronger than a cast piece, excellent detail.

Sorry, did not remember to take pic of machined speaker grill when I got home. Will try tonight!

    Godspeed!
    Dave

Cousin Wes has caused a couple dozen of this clip version to be made for stock.
    They are now $50.00 each.
Let me know if you have any interest.

Wes sends the clips in a padded bag via USPS. There is no shipping and handling charge within the Continental US.

The latest on the order process is that you can pay via Paypal and now there will be a $5.00 S&H charge.

If there are any other bits like the clips anyone thinks should be available let me know.

I have been experimenting with 3D printing these sun visor clips.
It was hard to find a plastic that could be printed, able to withstand the heat in the car, remain flexible and not be brittle.

Each plastic also has its own challenges to print.
I have ended up using raw nylon which has held up well in the car over the last six months but is a real pain to print - it loves to warp the bottom layers & is very hard to get to stick to the printer bed.
To get around the warping bottom layers I stacked 4 clips on top of each other & added a base, but this means extra post printing processing.
I also had to build an enclosure around the printer to print nylon.

Raw nylon was used as coloured nylon has less strength when printed compared with raw nylon & post dying.
I have not tried dying the nylon yet but hope to soon.

    Cheers,
    Al
