If it's anything like the previous generation challenge cars their is an absolutely huge gulf of performance difference between them, in the same way that a road tire can never be as good as a real slick tire. Think of every area in the car from weight reduction to steering to braking (due to massive weight loss), etc and it eclipses a road car in all areas related to track times. That extra performance however also comes with the extra compromises and hassle associated with having to tow a trailer and so on. Is it worth it is a purely personal judgement call but they are simply different cars and difficult to compare as every facet of performance is different. Even if power output is similar for example the way it's mapped is totally different as Ive discovered when comparing challenge cars maps to road cars.

Even more important than time is safety. Taking a street car on a track is a recipe for disaster. It’s a matter of time before you wreck and you don’t want to hit a wall or wipe out without proper safety. Crash bars, nets, halo seats, harnesses, fire extinguisher, fuel cell, ect.
Street car will fold like paper...

There is no comparison. The only downside is you can’t drive 488 Challenge on the Street but I would never track a Pista and you won’t see many do because for about half the price you can buy 488 Challenge and driver much faster and much safer not to mention the wear n tear of your Pista.

Not that I am aware of. You can title it but it la not street legal so don’t know how you could register it. I would check with your local dmv to come firm.

I know lots of guys with 458 and 488 and not one has ever registered the car.

Might be able to in SC. We don't have inspection or emissions. I've had two Grey Market AMG's entered into the Database and title printed in about 35-45min...after they used a crayon to Imprint the VIN on a paper to submit as proof..of course the car was in front of them both times.

Car looks awesome! I am shocked at the price. For my own education, I would have thought it would fetch more than a 488. Why the lower price?

Price is reduced to sell and we currently have few potential buyers close to making a move so time will tell.
If you want a track car it doesn’t get better than this, especially for the money.

Car is like new with 30k of extras on top of the price of the car which is 345k msrp.

I have this car, it’s epic and it’s a monster. The brakes are outstanding. Can scrub off 100 mph in under 2 seconds. This car is also good value! You will need support to run it.
