Or if you can find one. GM says production will end by March 2019.

"Cadillac's got a brand-new V8, and it sounds like a whopper. The brand's new 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 will officially launch in the new CT6 V-Sport later this year, where it'll produce an impressive 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque."

Classic Gm just as they start to get it right it gets canned.
The CT6 V has the rigth mtoor now, some sheet metal changes a upscale inetrior and scrappign half the useless tech and there would be a winner.

The CT6 shows how misguided so many desions are at a number of car companies. teh idea that customers will be bamboozled with tech to pay a huge permium for an otherwise Ok car is afllacy. Expensive cars are emotion, style performance. The CT6 lacked all those.

the V at least had the performace finally.

But then if youre GM why bother when you can sell chevy silverados dressed up as escaledes for max profit to consumer too stupid to notice. Course we know this ends in trail of tears.

Yeas, "as usual". Think Fiero, XLR and many others.

Questionable marketing too. Why not call it the CT8-V?

"Called "Blackwing," the motor is a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 making 500 hp and 553 lb-ft in base form, and 550 hp and 627-hp in the CT6-V. Serious numbers."

"It's no modified small block either—this is a thoroughly modern, dual-overhead cam mill with its two turbos nestled in the V for better throttle response. The Blackwing is set to be hand built at GM's Bowling Green, Kentucky plant."

If used as a daily or aggressively (i.e. for fun), it's not something I'd want to keep past the warranty.

I think it is a pretty great new engine .. This same inside turbo arrangement is being used in the new for 2018 4 liter AMG engine used for example in the Mercedes AMG E63S in this form it is 600hp ..... also BMWs new m5 has a smiliar 4 liter engine....
it is a design that sounds kind of odd but it works great in my AMGe63s and I suspect we will see this engine in the new corvette....
