Eviation, (Israeli) is apparently less than a year away from flying their all-electric (3 motor) 9 pax aircraft... 650 +/- mile range. 30 min charge.
    Certification is underway.

Zunum (US) is maybe a year behind them with a 19 pax hybrid aircraft. It has a 'range extender' small turboshaft engine in addition to the two ducted fan electric engines with wing mounted batteries. Boeing is a partner.
    Range... ???

Both planes are being designed for future possible/probable Pilotless Operation...

    Who's ready for that????

Autonomous aircraft operations are actually much simpler than operating autonomous cars. Many of the airliners now can be flown virtually hands off.

Well....terrorists won't need to buy tickets and board a plane anymore.....just program targets on the plane computer......Great!

I have refused to operate flights on several occasions where I found conditions to be unsafe in spite of significant pressure from dispatchers and chief pilots. It’s one thing to be ‘dedicated’ to safety, it’s an entirely different thing to be ‘committed.’
