John I agree as that color really suits the 206. Wonderful paint color there plus the interior spec to!!!
When I repaint my car, there are several colors that I am considering; Verde Scuro Dino, Verde Scuro Ferrari, and Verde Pino Metallizzato. Of course my son likes Celeste Metallizzato. The advantage with our cars is that I don't think there is any color that looks bad. Our cars are just so beautiful.
No idea whether it is original, but isn't it gorgeous? Original color VERDE SCURO 20 G 186, interior NERO 161 Best, Miki-Paki.
The VC license plate is FAKE and does NOT belong to this Dino #00210. This plate belongs to an Alfa Romeo. Marcel Massini
Ciao Miki It is funny, a long time ago, used to own a FIAT 132 in the same color, dog ugly. What a difference a dress makes on a different body, car or woman Saluti, Alberto
Hello Marcel, I am curious, VC plate (Vercelli) is real, so why FAKE? This plate is a fake? Regrets, but I don't understand, or, I am amazed how you know about what plate goes to which brand, and when. I have been trying for ages to find the plate that went on AR chassis # 153 2307. If you happen to know, please pm for details. Asked the Alfa Romeo Museum about the early '60's, handful of cars that were sold in Central America and by whom, no idea... Regards, Alberto
I know this is a 206, but I have a 73 246 GTS European version. How sacrilege would it be if I put a wood steering wheel on my car? I think the wooden steering wheel gives it a extra touch of class.
If your car was ever registered in Italy, it’s possible to go to Automobile Club d’Italia http://www.aci.it/ to research your VIN/Registration Number(s). Marcel did this research for me and I was lucky and was able to get original copies of all the past owners registrations. Of course this research cost me a bit but it was worth getting a complete Italian history on my Dino. Freeman
I don't think it would be sacrilege: it was a fairly common practice to fit wood-rim wheels to cars as a period mod in the '70s, so I don't see why someone might not have done so to a Dino. Having said that, I think it would look a little odd, so would advise against it. Same goes for UK registered cars: you can get a list of owners and the registration numbers for your car (although not all their records are as complete as they might be - a lot of records were binned when they changed over from a paper system to a computerise one) from the Vehicle Licensing Authority. I think the fee is about £20.
Great color. Love any green on Fcars in general and I like how deep this color is. I have a few greens on my list for a re-spray of my 308 GT4
I have seen one or two Dinos and others like GTC/4 and GT4 2+2 with these wooden wheels. Maybe a UK thing. Mark Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Freeman, thank you! Matthias found by sheer luck at a bookseller in Berlin, my original "Libretto di Circolazione". What are the odds ? The first owner was a fellow in Palermo that spent some time behind bars, and the second, is a nobleman from the same city. My dear friend is trying to reach him, to see if he has photos, etc. After, the car was sent out of Italy via CH. and ended in the 'salt mines' of Canada or some such mostly frozen location. Will try Automobile Club d’Italia, and see if anything else is different. Regards, Alberto
I thought so, in view of what you said to me at the FOC concours. Do you have any more photos of my car, by any chance?
If it puts a smile to your face, why not? Especially if it’s simple to install and remove like a steering wheel! Just keep the original wheel safely stored! Freeman
Yup, screams 70's, love this color also but I think it looks even better right here. I'm thinking a deeper color-and if it's deep enough I might not put the boxer scheme back on the bottom half of the car, it's a series 1 I'll prob just end up doing a re-sale red respray again to avoid the extra hastle-and it is significant work. If my kids actually get into it I'd do the full job-but that may be a stretch with these kids, consistent with all kids these days. No offense to any kids out there but these are true first world issues.
Check out this F40 that was repainted by the owner in ‘Verde Abetone’ https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/meet-man-behind-automobili-amos-hottest-car-hype-year Gotta love it! Freeman
