Amazing how much room there is inside the cabin with the front seats out, it's really a surprisingly spacious design!

And they gray one! that's not me even though it is in The Netherlands where I live Johan, care to share from whom this Grigio Mondial is? I haven't seen any other yet in NL driving around.
Had a great time at the SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) Nationals this past weekend. Plenty of cool, vintage iron in the pits including a Zagato-bodied Aston, a Bizzarini, plenty of Alfas, old Corvettes, and a couple of original Shelby Mustangs just to name a few. I took the Mondial out there and then spent some time with it on winding roads near Lake Travis. Good times!!! 2cam Image Unavailable, Please Login
It did get quite a few "nice car" comments and thumbs-ups throughout the day. I parked in the pit area away from the primary parking but there seemed to be at least a person or two around the car taking a look at it each time we walked past. There was also a car show going on which had an old 308 GTS and a 355 Spider in it. They did a parade lap on the track at one point. It would have been fun to do that as well. Maybe next year.... 2cam
Got my seats back from upholstery repair this week. Driver's seat cover was removed, damaged leather sections replaced, foam base rebuilt, then both seats re-dyed. The seat on the left is the driver's seat, my repair guy said the leather will smooth back out once it's been sat in a few times. Here are before and after pics... Great thread; beautiful cars. BTW, I really appreciate the positive tone of this forum. So much of the internet is negative garbage, or on some car forums, constant one-upsmanship (not really a word?). Don't see that here. Looking forward to getting one of these.
In the market within a year or two. I'll be looking for an 8 or a QV coupe. I've been researching the 308 variants (GTB, GTSi, GT4) and the Mondial. I love the styling of all of them, but the Mondial has an understated quality to it. Reading between the lines, I think I'm seeing a better car being held back by myths constantly parroted online. And I know and like K-Jet more than I do Weber carbs. Bottom line, they seem like great cars.
You have great taste. Have you ever seen one in the flesh? They look even better! I was at the traffic lights 4 days ago and there was a 328 in the oncoming lane. Both red. I was really content to be in the Mondial, IMHO so much more special and better looking. K-Jet is robust, I bought my '86 in August and have logged nearly 6,000 miles since without ANY mechanical issues. Quite astonishing for a 32 year old Italian exotic - apparently these really were well made. Don't listen to the crap online, it's just a kind of tall poppy syndrome. I drove mine across the USA after collecting it in San Francisco...SF to Connecticut. I have been daily driving it since - my Audi's battery has been getting flat. I would sell the Audi if not for the snow - winter is coming and soon the Mondial will be tucked away on a trickle charger. Grab one while you can you won't regret it!

It’s been exceptionally nice in Austin the last couple of weekends. It's such a perfect time of year for a drive in a classic, old sportscar! 2cam Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hear you. I am in CT and we already have had a snow storm. It’s rained for days now so all salt/ice is gone. Tomorrow I will give her some exercise on dry roads!!
