Mike, I did not take one out, it is real tight, and I am afraid it might break off. I believe they might be aluminum. Dominick
I can’t imagine they are aluminum. I’m betting steel. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Mike, I can also send you a couple of the new ones I have if that’s preferred. Sure it would be helpful to have a resource to reproduce them. The set I purchased from Ferrari was quite expensive and if we can save others from that then great!
Just try a magnet to see if it’s mild steel. Looking at the pics on previous thread it looks like alloy to me. It’s no hardship to make in stainless anyway, we still need the thread size and pitch regardless. Try a needle file to see if it is alloy
You could make 1 of these for a pound without the screwdriver slot, assuming you can use a file to make the slot, as that is the quickest and cheapest way to do that part

2 sizes 1 longer and 1 shorter Same piece for the other side. The longer one is 18 mm long and 15 mm round tab and a 10 mm diameter rod The shorter one is 14 mm long and 15 mm round tab and a 10 mm diameter rod I'll go to the store and confirm what mm screw it is just in case.
Just pick up the thread pitch from the male screw you have in the picture, it is either 1. Or 1.25 mm between each thread pitch. The 1 mm pitch is metric fine. Looking at the pic makes me think this is plated steel so should be magnetic in that case
Thanks mike32, things have been crazy here, but I will get you the thread pitch and do a magnet test as well. Stay tuned
Mike, I tested it with a magnet it sticks, so it is metal. Sorry for the delay Dominick Mike, I tested it with a magnet it sticks, so it is metal. Sorry for the delay Dominick
Fine so it is plated steel, you can spray paint mild steel or they can be made in stainless, no good until we get the thread size and pitch anyway
Okay Mike so I went to home Depot and it fits in the 1.25 View attachment 3134572 Also very magnetic for me as well
Now that is a handy thread gauge, i just use a plastic ruler myself . M8 x 1.25 is a standard metric size, the M8x 1 next to it is metric fine, i will let you know when i have knocked up a few as i have a set of HSS thread dies for that thread.
The postage will probably be more than the cost of making, i could not find them on the parts list as a spare part.
Happy to support my Mondial brothers, btw you can't separately buy them unless you get it as a special repair kit which was hundreds of dollars...
Just for your info the male screw are normally available anywhere, the proper name is a Cheese head screw, easy to source . The female ones are a different matter, can someone measure the width of the screwdriver slot. Ta mike
