Back in 2003 buyers were specing their stradales and everybody was balking at $5,000 for the optional stripe. At the time, we were told the stripe was expensive because it was "hand painted" (it's not...but it is a very nice graphic under the clear coat). I guess in hindsight that stripe was a bargain given the optional stripe on the 458 Speciale is nearly $12,000 :)

"We" are all crazy, just what category.

We are making a "judgement" every time we purchase something. I spend my money on cars, some on jewlery, others, whatever. My brother in law just bought a painting for $75,000 I wouldn't put in my bathrrom, but he loves it. What is "expensive" is something YOU spent more on than you feel you gained. We, who live in glass houses should put our stones away. Best

Inflation, how do you explain Ferrari's record profits? ;)

What a childish comment from an apparently grown up adult .

Sounds like a lot of envy.
Why should I care about 1000$ on a 200.000+$ car? It's really pointless.
If you will ever put a "homemade sticker" on it you could easily depreciate it if it's not well made.
People are free to do what they want!
I meant that is a silly move - I didn't say that you are silly.

How dare you to say that I "apparently" grew up? Do I know you?

you can get the square italian flag metallic emblem from FIAT or Alfa Romeo dealers at no more than 100$ I think...and looks exactly the same.
1100$ for that emblem is just rediculous IMHO...

Sorry, with the both "i" without dot to get no problems with copyright
it looks a little bit fake…

The Ferrari italian flag with it´s slime style and perfect quality looks much more
    atrractive.

Ok, not so attractive, that i would spend 1.100 USD :D but i would also not spend
10 USD on a fake part...

Who cares what someone else spend their money on. Granted I wouldn't spend 1k on a sticker but if someone else wants to -- big deal. Not like they are spending your money. Obviously Ferarri wouldn't charge that if people wouldn't pay it. There is a reason they made a record profit this year and are giving every employee thousands of $ in bonuses this year.

Sharp eye, I noticed it now.
That was my question "what about the copyright issues?" But now it's clear.

Not sure if anyone is still monitoring this discussion. I really like the Italian Flag emblem for my 360 Spider and found one on E-Bay that was reasonably priced. It arrived today and looks just like the flag emblem on the 458 at the top of this string. Question, is their a correct spacing between the Ferrari emblem and the flag emblem? thanks for your help.

I placed mine at 5/8" above the Ferrari logo. Others have shown that the factory spacing is 23mm. Go with what you like.

Lol. Actually everyone who buys a ferrari should have their head examined, including myself. Everyone who paid 30k for pearl white color should have their head examined when toyota charges only 500 dollars for almost the same color (ok, this one is a bit far stretched)

You know where this is going... Only the person who holds that dollar bill should be judging what that dollar bill is worth, because he or she earned it.

Not so far fetched. There is at least one Toyota grey metallic color that looks to me in person as nice as any similar special order grey Ferrari paint made. And its zero extra cost. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Tricolore enamel badges exactly the same as the Ferrari rear engine cover badges are available in the UK. I bought one a couple of months ago for £85.
The asking price was £95 but he sold it to me incl. postage for the above price.
