Very nice car. I have some nice color photos of it at Sebring. It looked really worn out cosmetically at Sebring in 1957.

Off topic, do you know if the red Boomerang concept shown at the 1971 Turin Motor Show was the same chassis as later showcar or just a mockup??

0628 in Brescia 5 May 1988, Luigi Chinetti Sr and Jr in the back.
At this moment it still had the pontoon fender configuration. It has since been renosed.

It was the real car - no mockup. But it was not red - it was orange.

    An amazing car to offer and yet another feather in RMs cap. This 290MM is offered at $22 - 26 million and entirely reflective of a slight flattening of the market since since 2015 when #0626 fetched $28.05 million. If it sells this will be one of just 13 cars to pass the $20 mm mark, the others being;

    1 - 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO @ RM Monterey 2018 ($48.405 mil.)
    2 - 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO @ Bonhams Quail 2014 ($38.115 mil.)
    3 - 1957 Ferrari 335S @ Artcurial Paris 2016 ($35.711 mil.)
    4 - 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196 @ Bonhams Goodwwood 2013 ($29.6 mil.)
    5 - 1956 Ferrari 290MM @ RM New York 2015 ($28.05 mil.)
    6 - 1967 Ferrari 275GTB/4*S NART Spider @ RM Monterey 2013 ($27.5 mil.)
    7 - 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale @ RM Monterey 2014 ($26.4 mil.)
    8 - 1955 Ferrari 410S @ Rick Cole Monterey ($23 mil.*)
    9 - 1956 Aston Martin DBR1 @ RM Monterey 2017 ($22.55 mil.)
    10 - 1935 Duesenberg SSJ @ Gooding Pebble Beach 2018 ($22 mil.)
    11 - 1955 Jaguar D-Type @ RM Monterey 2016 ($21.78 mil.)
    12 - 1963 Aston Martin DP215 @ RM Monterey 2018 ($21.45 mil.)

As to whether it will sell or not, no less than three 250GTO and three 250 Testa Rossa have sold in 2018 so there is money out there but the 290MM is very specialised indeed so its highly likely it will, but not guaranteed.

As always www.autoauctionsmonthly.com will have full, free coverage of the sale.

J.D. Classics in the UK were claiming to have sold a 250TR which only matches with #0742TR, I cannot for the life of me remember what the other one is....... But I do recall three selling.

Just one thought, for $130 million a collector could purchase an instant 4 car collection that would be up there with the greatest, the Alfa, the 290MM, 250GTO sold at Monterey and the 275P.

Official results are not yet posted but here are the listings for the unsold lots. It appears that the only Ferrari that didn't sell are the 89 Testarossa and the 430 Scuderia.
