Do any of you know how to identify Jersey (Channel Islands) cats from their registration plates?

Eg there is a 512TR registered J5120 around - any idea which car this is?

Hi Grant, this is now confirmed. Russell at BH confirms that they "stripped it back to bare metal about 16 years ago and worked on it over the winters" before it went to Mike Osgood.

All you need is the 5th edition of the UK FOC Register. I have seen an original #1 and I have #2, #3 and #4. I have yet to see #5 on eBay :). I think this is the only way.

Bertrand. Please, please do not look too hard for #5. You will not find one. It does exist but you will more easily find a unicorn, the Loch Ness Monster or the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. :)

Another one of William Loughran's ads from Motorsport, this time from August 1983. The two Daytonas (15909 and 16827) are still for sale (from the previous ad I posted from August 1981 in post #940). Now we also have 365 GT 2+2 (12125) and 275 GTB/4 (10851). I cannot identify the 365 GTC from the registration (JEH 324G?) and there is not enough to help me with the 330 GT 2+2.

I'd put money on the 330 GT being s/n 7829.

Good call! I had done a search of the 330 GT registry on William Loughran but nothing had come up. I have just had another look and his name does appear in that entry but it is spelt Loghran! Both 7829 and 10851 are ex Shrigley-Fiegl so it would make sense if they were still together with William Loughran.

I've got these details against #7829 it was Amaranto with originally with beige.

Delivered new by Maranello Concessionaires on the 10th December 1965 to Mr D G of Bridlington for the grand sum of £6,350 including a 3% discount in lieu of a part-exchange.

Advertised by Hughes of Beaconsfield as RPV 14(should be RPV 15) in the 7th February 1970 MOTOR classified section with 25,000 miles for £3,750
#7829 moved to the Isle of Man where it was registered to a Mr Shrigel before returning to the mainland in 1984, and being registered NSV 316. The car passed through the hands of two car dealers, William Loughran and Brian Classic, before Mike Scott (one of the founders of Modena Engineering Ltd) purchased the car on behalf of Neil L-B, also a director of Modena Eng. Ltd. The car had apparently been restored by Dick Lovetts and Modena Engineering, when it came up for auction at Coys on 30th April 1989 where it sold for £86,970, being purchased by Mr J L. Mr L owned the car until April 1994 when the last owner acquired the car via a London dealer. He has managed to acquire the car's original registration number, EWF 778D, as well as researching the car's history, contacting most of the previous owners with very positive results. Needless to say, a comprehensive history comes with the car. Servicing has been carried out by the then Ferrari dealer for Scotland, Glenvarigill.

    I think 365 GTC is #12557?

The November 1983 Motorsport had an unlikely pairing on road test together: Terry Hoyle's 250 GT Lusso (5953GT) and the new Mondial 8 QV! Amazingly there were 20 years between the two cars. No idea on the ID of the Mondial although there were lots of similar registrations around.

I really do think it was 1985, as you first thought.
