This is how much I dislike selling things to the public.

I crushed a repairable Chassis (94) that I have all the parts to make right. Don’t have the time and really out of space. Tried to sell it a few times but at $3500, there weren’t any takers so RIP.

Apparently video too large. I’ll try it later but I fly to Euro tonite so might be a few days.

No I didn’t. I have spares out the ying yang. I even had one dweeb ask me if I had records with it LOL.

It would have made a good track weapon but I have to steal any free time as it is for the foreseeable future. So not time to build let alone track. I have two boys and one who races carts and other plays hockey. I will try to put it up on you tube and get you the link. I think I’ll have to get my old girlfriend to do it. She does all my video stuff.

I don't think I understand this situation. You had wrecked but repairable Ferrari, and instead of dropping the price below $3500 or just giving it away, you chose to crush and bury it?

I have a very low tolerance with negotiating pricing with dummies people. I had one guy ask me if I had records. Records, with a chassis.....

I’d have paid twice was I was asking for it not to have to deal with that stuff.

How about you run a garage sale and get back to me on the joys of dealing with joes and Georgette’s

You know what, there is a lot of bashing going on. The amount of time and money it would have taken to make that chassis drivable would have been insane. Even as a DIYer you would have been into that project for a couple years, and tens of thousands of dollars in expenses. The car could have been made perfect, but then what? Then a perfectly restored 355 that went up for sale would have gotten trashed again because it was a “salavge”. Catch 22 around here sometimes. Damned if you do damed if you don’t.

So yeah, the decision to crush it was pretty good.

You are out $3500, but saved yourself uncounted thousands, frustration, and headache.

Plus, that is 1 less 355 on the planet = the remaining cars just went up in price.

    Plus it’s only a 355.

Now had it been a 348, that would have been a real tragedy.

    :p :D

That didn’t look like in your wildest dreams a repairable chassis. Did look like much that could have even been sectioned out and used. But why bury instead of taking it to a metal recycler? You could at least get a few bucks and we’d have less random holes filled with garbage.

No more garage sales for me. I did the same thing with christmas lights.
Some guy told me would i take 10 bucks for 200 dollars worth of lights.
I said 50 bucks or you cam watch me crush them.
He said why would you do that
I said because i am hopeing you will leave quicker if i crush them
    Then i crushed them.

I am in total agreement with you.
    Gotta luv it.
