I've been searching for a replacement radio for my 360 that wasn't ... shiny and glitzy. I do not like the "factory" clarion fold-out display unit. I want a non-folding something that fits well with the Ferrari interior. The Porsche Classic Navigation Radio is an option, but it doesn't accept a backup camera input (why? no clue).

    Searching, searching and searching.

    Then I found this

Even though it has DAB+ (which doesn't work in the US), it does have AM/FM. It also uses TomTom maps that, if I'm correct, can be had for the US straight from TomTom. (Honestly it doesn't need Nav, but having a backup camera is a nice thing.)

Wow that looks good. Anyone try one? (I'm willing to be a test rat to see if it works.)

Just ordered one. It'll take 3 weeks to arrive modulo customs delays, etc.
Once I get it, I'll post more details in this thread.

Now time to lobby the FCC for DAB+ ...

I like the factory look of the Porsche one however I don't like the fact it has Porsche across the top and the start up loading screen has Porsche emblem aswell.

The Kienzle looks some what factory, would like to see it installed.

Also note that the Porsche unit (for some reason) does not have a video input and does not support a backup camera.

My plan is to install the Kienzle this coming week. I'll keep notes and post a DIY.

That will give a clean look but I don't know how useful the GPS will be with such a small screen (of course I'm gauging based on my visual handicap)
However, I've often wondered how one of these single din units with a larger screen would look (I don't like flipout screens)

It's what the market will bear. Same price as the Porsche PCNR.

There are other options. If you can find one, the discontinued Kenwood KIV-BT901 will give you a display that allows backup camera. It is old and supports a Sirius (not SiriusXM) tuner. No navigation. But Google Maps is good. Would provide a backup camera. (I have a new in box one if anyone is interested in it. I'd sell it for $50 plus shipping)

JVC also made a single-din nav about 10 years ago. It's very very very much out of date now.

    Here's the KIV-BT901

That looks OEM, I like it. Is there a wiring harness adapter or did you have to splice it in?

Looks clean and like it could have come from the factory this way...same question as "bob in texas" adaptor or splice.?
Is there a adaptor part # you used..?
Also how was the securing within the factory opening.?
Did it ever locate multiple satellites.?
    Thanks for sharing

It's almost the same pinouts. I'll post more details later. Very simple installation.

The connectors on the back of the Kienzle are the standard connectors for euro/becker head units and almost match the OEM headunit.
    There are three differences:

For a reverse gear sensor, the Kienzle uses a different lead on the auxiliary "C" connector vs. the OEM harness that uses pin A2.

Second, the antenna/amplifier-on wire pin A5 on the Kienzle I found had too low a voltage (10.4V vs. 12V) to turn on the factory HiFi-option ASK amp.
I instead had to jumper from the ignition wire to the A5 pin to make it work.
(If you do not have the factory HiFi option, this will not be a problem for you.)

I did NONE of this by cutting the car's harness (yikes!). Instead, I used a female to male adapter for the A-type connector.

Third, you will also need an adapter for the factory antenna connection. That's a Fakra (female) to ISO (female) antenna adapter cable.

Other than those differences, it was easy.

Very happy with a recently installed Alpine system. My F430 power booster died and figured I should also replace the head unit. Alpine just came out with a perfect fit amp and I chose a head unit w/o CD since my small 64 gig USB Thumbs carry 5-7k songs. Put it on shuffle and can drive with no dashboard distractions. Harness adapter allows for simple re-installation of original POS Becker unit. Did not need to replace speakers since the new clean amp/head units make them sound great. Image shows models, etc.

The Pioneer and the Alpine both are nice.

I'm one of those who wants it to look OEM and as if it came from the factory that way. So neither of those head units work for me But that's just me...

Tom does your new head unit have Bluetooth phone integration or is it audio only? Looks great Btw, very clean and simple.

Yes Bluetooth including Bluetooth audio and full phone integration.

I used the nav today and it's pretty good. I used to own the Porsche Classic Navigation Radio. The Kienzle's nav is far more legible. It works better than the Porsche unit in the single DIN formfactor.

I like the idea of that. What does it sell for? Can’t seem to find any around here.

Also considering the Alpine Halo9. Little pricy but checks most of the boxes for me.
