More to the point, this can't even be conclusively proven to be a fake out stop. The VSC lasted far less in duration than usual, so Merc can make the legitimate argument that they were caught out by the abrupt end of the VSC period. Penalties are often a judgement call. I felt that Vettel's move on Max earlier was richly deserving of a penalty but the stewards let it go. This pit stop thing is even more debatable.
This will be the first year since the inaugural Austin GP that I WILL NOT GO. Since 2012 I’ve been to 8 F1 races in three countries. I’m done for 2018. I will not support F1 or Ferrari in this state.
