    Hi

I'm trying to work out what my Mondial is.

Its a Euro model, registered as an 85 QV, with a chassis no 54373 - within the QV range

But front and rear bumper, front grill / lights and wheels seem to be from a 3.2?
It has Mondial V8 badge on the tail

Interior has the all leather dash which I understand was available as an option for the 3.2 although the instrument cluster surround is def the QV shape

I was wondering if there was an overlap between the QV and 3.2 production?

When I VIN check in UK it comes up as a 3.2

    Would value any thoughts

    Cheers

Engine compartment pictures would help us identifying if its a 3.0 quatrovalvole or if its the 3.2 liter version .

Without the full VIN it's nearly impossible to tell.

I see so many mixed parts - inside door pulls from a QV, wheels and bumpers from a 3.2, US Spec "third brake light"...

BTW, I'm pretty sure the "V8" emblem is not OEM.

IMO, this looks like a QV that has had later parts added to it. If you look closely, it's had a bit of customization done to it. The floor mats in the interior (and perhaps the dash as well). The exterior black trim and lower body has been painted from black to red, the third brake light has been added, and the 3.2 wheels.

Looks like a 3.2 with a 3.0 engine. Ferrari sometimes it seems clear the shelves of parts for a new model. My title says 1985 but Ferrari built it in 1983 which was the beginning of the QV. I sometimes have to get parts for an 8. Weird.

One quick and easy way to tell -- Do you have 2 fans on the radiator? QVs have only 1.

It is a 3.2 body/chassis, especially with the full bumpers, wheels, front grill and front lights. Unless someone has spent a load of money converting a QV to 3.2.

The QV has smaller segmented bumpers, in 3 pieces for the front and same again for rear. Wheels are different too, give away is the very different front lamp assemblies.

Best way to check is chassis and engine numbers, you can register and check with Ferrari

    Great, thanks
    Mondial QV, Euro Spec

So someone may have spent a lot of cash fitting 3.2 bumpers, lights etc

Just guessing here, but the 3.2 parts were probably sourced from a cabriolet since your car appears to have a cabrio engine lid (cabrio third brake light).

The cabrio engine lid is a different shape to the coupe engine lid. It has more louvres and square edges under the rear screen.

The QV engine was produced as a 3.0 and as a 3.2 with the 3.2 being released in 1985. My early 1983 QV 3.0 has lots of Mondial 8 features such as the engine plenum and the door cards. I guess its possible for a 1985 QV 3.2 to have a few QV 3.0 features such as the engine plenum and a QV 3.0 dashboard.

The best way to confirm what kind of engine you have fitted is to look at the engine code on the engine itself. F105A denotes a 3.0, F105C denotes a 3.2. See the following link for how to find the engine code: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/location-of-engine-number.463480/

    Know there's more out there.

very nice looking car. Tasteful conversions. The only thing I would take out is the V8 badge since that was neither on the QV and 3.2.

The other way to work out what type of Mondial you have is to decode the VIN number:

-If the fourth digit is an 'L' it should be a 3.0 QV
-If t he fourth digit is a 'W' it should be a 3.2
-If the 6th and 7th digits are '14' it should be a 3.0 coupe
-If the 6th and 7th digits are '21' it should be a 3.2 coupe

It is definitive not a 3.2 looking at the inner door panels en wrong shape of the dashboard.
