Take it for a ride without the muffler, big fun! Just tip toe out of the neighbor hood and then let it go. Ask me how I know! You never grow up David, you old man!!!
David, I fired it up for a few seconds in the garage and did a little video that I will upload. Honestly I had my neighbours giving me evil stares within minutes !! I will drive it out though at some point, along some country roads and record the noise when the engine is opened up
HELP PLEASE : Euro Testarossa owners It would be extremely handy if someone with a Euro TR could take pictures and exact measurements on the frame where the two (left and right) exhaust muffler brackets are situated and welded onto the car ??? As mentioned above they are completely different to US models and thats one of the big modifications I need to make on the Rat in order to hang the new sports muffler. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Ratarossa got a shout out in the most recent "Prancing Horse" Let me know if you need a screenshot. sjd
here's a cell phone pic of it. I can make a proper scan Tuesday after the holiday here. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bit more research on the Euro Exhaust mounting points Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also found these bypass pipes that are 2’ wide & look to have the correct mounting brackets. I’m hoping they will do the job. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My ears are bleeding !!! I took the car for a quick drive to see a local fabricator about making up some new hangers. All I can say is without the exhaust system this is SERIOUSLY loud, the noise crackles and pops that come from the car are unbelievable, ear defenders are a must.
I have now found someone local who can fabricate the box sections and weld in place to hang the Euro Sports exhaust and tomorrow I'm off to the shop to measure up the bypass decat pipe. Hoping the 'off the shelf' solution will work and save a bit of time. The Decat is actually made for a Honda Civic
Picked up the cat bypass tubes to try a test fit on the car and see how much modification is required Image Unavailable, Please Login
Test fitting to see how the flanges marry up together. Exhaust end of bypass pipe, if I open up the holes slightly on the bracket to allow for bigger bolts this will work along with the gasket. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll still have my one off Larini "Exhaust" Scott for the "my neighbours hate me" sound. I look forward though to hearing my old exhaust again.
As much as I would love that Larini exhaust Peter, I believe my neighbours would literally string me up If I put that on the TR, I just about get away with the Stradale noise and had one of them stood on the road with folded arms very disapproving when i was moving it around the other day
My hot rod friend "Jack" : At motel for a next day car show, trying to sleep. Guys next room, drunk, loud, partying. Jack bangs on wall at 2:00am. hey trying to sleep! drunks tell him to go F- himself. Next morning 6:00am, Jack backs his loud hot rod up against there door and revs the hell out of it. They come out screaming. Hey were trying to sleep! Jack tells them to go F-themselves! What goes around comes around!
