Hi Ladies and Gents, starting to look into buying an F430 and would value you opinion into weather you feel the value of these cars have reached the bottom of the depreciation curve and does it really matter if its Australian delivered.
    Thank you in advance

Not very many non-Aussie delivered, unlike the 360s, only private imports. I'd pay a bit more for a well maintained one, rather than buy the cheapest. Gizzi will fill you in when he returns from his little jaunt next week.

If you can wait 30 days for Pee Pee to get out of the cooler he can discuss the pros and cons of Aussie Delivered vs imported....My advice is if you go imported make sure the seats are black scurio and the carpets are red....Winning combination for future saleability......Wish PP was here to confirm that.....:)

Are you trying to introduce Neil to the concept of "thread drift" - very common in these parts

You can scrub solenoid from that list, thanks.
In the second longest running saga in recent Aussie F-chat times, the “new” unit arrived yesterday and the solenoid is being fitted as we speak. :)

    Fingers crossed...

(What was this thread about again)?

I came up to Cairns again this morning and won’t be home until Saturday so I’ve asked them to drive and test the hell out of it between now and then.
All going well I’ll pick the car up Monday. :)

I Think they will keep heading south with property prices and the economy.....Plus the fact they made so many of them...Buy it to enjoy....If you want an investment buy a 430 Scud or a rental property.....:)

My opinion is F430 prices will continue to fall as single-clutch cars in general (with a rare exception of F355 and M3CSL) are not well regarded in the market right now. In UK manual 360 is now at parity with F430, this is a good indication where our market will be in 6-12 months.

Alfa Romeo want $8k to replace the clutch in my wife’s Giulietta TCT gearbox..but if the flywheel needs replacing then that’s another $4k..
l’ve found the exact OEM parts from the UK for around $2k shipped to my door,,
just looking around for someone to fit it..

l know it’s around $8k to have the clutch done on a Maserati Grandsport so more or less the 430 would cost the same..

I’m almost temped to,,problem is that there’s no online help or workshop manuals,,l’m told that a special tool is needed for the flywheel alignment, but l can’t find anyone that will sell it to me..
As they’re a relatively new car,not many people in Australia have done the job before, the dealer told me they have only dine 4 cars, and they were all under warranty..

Funny thing is that around 6 months ago l went to a Alfa/Fiat wrecker for a part for my 500,
l found it curious to see a few Giulietta’s there being wrecked but they didn’t appear to have any collision damage..
if the dealers are asking $12k for a clutch job on a car that’s worth $14-15k,you can see why they’re apparently being written off..

I have had a 430 for over 7 years and love it. The clock reads 53,000 miles and it has been amazing. I am not sure your size you are, I would have someone run the VIN and see what size seats it has before you purchase. The car has little quirks just like all of them but is so much lower in maintenance then models before it.

The 430 is the last and best iteration of the single clutch F1. I have 92k klms on mine and still on the original clutch, with 69% wear. They have some little issues to deal with, manifolds, fuel pumps, ball joints etc. but it's small potatoes compared to some models. If you are worried about it's appreciation or depreciation, don't buy a Ferrari. Honestly. The Scud is the only one that has increased in value. As for the Manual 430's on the market, well that's speculative pricing. Time may well prove me wrong. The 430 is a bullet, and bullet proof. Just don't expect to NOT spend money on it after you've bought it.
