    Hi all,

I'm finally taking my F430 to Watkins Glen (a bucket list item!) for a track session next week and wanted to get recommendations your on OBD2 scanner and corresponding iphone app to track lap data. Not sure i'm posting in the right forum, but thought I'd start here.

    Thanks! - Kevin

I wouldn't use the ODB at all. You would be surprised at how much info Harry's Lap Timer, an app for IOS and Android can provide you. I have a Video Vbox in my Challenge car and would also use Harry's for immediate feedback during and after the session. It's cheap and an easy way to get started.

A word of advice... Whatever app you end up with, learn the app inside out before you arrive for your track day.

Configure it as best you can and practice starting it with confidence everything is set up correctly. Make up a course around your neighborhood and get familiar with how to start and stop logging.

This will help make it a tool at your track day, instead of a distraction.

PS, This isn't a track day app, but Torque Pro is a must have with a bluetooth ODB2 reader in the glovebox.

Yes. I wish I had read this before my track days...but I figured it out eventually.

Yeah, this is much better for a street car that you are just "converting" a street car to track for the day. Hope to see you at the track someday.

Look at the Auto Sports Lab offerings.

Lots of us are using them in Lemons and Lucky Dog racing.

    Brent is a great guy.

I use TrackAddict, and it seems to work very well. As was previously mentioned, spend some time learning the app before track day arrives. I missed recording the first two sessions because I forgot to "start" it. Then figured out that I could have it auto start, and all was great after.
