I'm guessing it would not be easy given the line of the car but m wondering if anyone has any experience with wrapping a Testarossa. Thanks

It's remarkably easy! You'd be surprised what you can do if you put your mind to it. :)

I confess it came that way when I bought it. It used to be a show car for a wrap company. It's black underneath.

Given the quality of the original paint, inconsistencies during the painting process, years of wear, cracks, and how long the wrap has been on the car , I would guess once you remove the wrap that you're looking at repainting the car or having to re wrap it.

YEah that's the plan. The wrap probably has another year or two left on it (since 2013) and we'll see what the paint looks like when it comes off.

I wouldn't keep a wrap on a car for more than 3 or 4 years. I once owned an advertising van which I wrapped. Removing the wrap at the time of sale was a nightmare, especially the side which had more sun exposure. Ended up needing special chemicals to remove all the gunk stuck to the paint and (destroyed) rubber seals. The end result wasn't pretty but then again neither was the van.

I would wrap one that I used as a street thrasher to avoid a repaint and enjoy it without worry.

There are carbon fiber panels over the places where the strakes go. You can see little bubbles where the screws go but not obvious. Here's another view. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Is wrapping the best way to preserve it? or just apply wax and it's all good? Thanks.

Ive been told by Protctive Film Solutions in socal that a wrap does very little as far as protection goes. I feel like an extra layer of vinyl wouldnt hurt, but keep your expectations low. I have heard of 3 (plus the story above) people who pulled clear coat off when removing their clear /fyi.

On the other hand... PFS does sell a CLEAR PROTECTANT layer...i think its called, Xpel. Its a few thousand more than a vinyl wrap but DOES protect the paint. It even self cures with minor scuffs

The one we purchased 5 years ago came wrapped. It was a very good job and has really contributed to a very positive ownership experience. Never had black paint so easy to maintain. Even the strakes were wrapped.

It is still in great shape, was most likely done around 2007 before the financial meltdown, I would guess based on the cars in the background.

Can't comment on the cost. Perhaps you could contact the guys in the Carolinas that did it. Here is the their contact info with pics of them doing our car for the previous owner.
