Garage Pics!!

Unfortunately I don't have a garage at our house in the middle of Exeter, nor any room to build one, so they are spread around a bit. The 2 DDs live on the driveway, I rent two lock-ups from the Council, and a barn on a farm just out of town which houses another 3 and we have a single and a double garage at our house near Cirencester.

I dream of a huge garage, with a house attached!

 

Garage far more important than house, I hear ya and agree.

 

Please explain to my wife, who does not seem to understand!

 

can you not sell her the idea of combining house and garage into one big space ?

 

I sort of have this in mind, but I am not entirely convinced that she would warm to the idea!

I used to love the Clive Cussler novels with Dirk Pitt living in the airplane hangar, with his cars and hot babes...I pictured that exact building in my mind!

 

I love that grass roof on the garage. Looks great, low maintenance, good through storms, and keeps temps down! And it basically makes the home's physical footprint on the environment zero as it simply shifted it up in elevation.

 

Thanks, Mang. It keeps me limber, and I enjoy the work. I find it therapeutic.

I’m happy you like the green roof. It has many advantages, as you say. It keeps the interior at least 3C cooler. The grass pavers help too. The crushed gravel driveway was a heat sink. Best,

Wow, Dirk Pitt. Been a long time since I heard that name, Those were great books!

 

Except after the 3rd adventure, you figured out the formula and could write your own. I think I've read nearly all of them, simply because it is like going to the movies. pure entertainment.

Actually what got me started was mentioning that I wanted a hanger with a mezzanine at one end to live in. My friend Neil says "Oh like Dirt Pitt?" ....and the journey began...and a rail car would be waaaaay cooler.

Image Unavailable, Please Login No, Kevin. We planted ground cover that doesn’t grow tall, so we don’t have to mow The green roof is a pleasant sight.

 

While not yet complete, with bottle opener in place that hung in my Dad's garage since 1972, and a beer fridge from my wife, the garage is now ready for proper enjoyment.
