What ever happened to Christian?
Hows is the car progressing? I am aware there was a more bespoke version prior to this what happened to it? Cheers Graeme
Does anyone have a contact for Christian Giordanengo? I'd love to figure out a way to get a 33 made. Thanks!
Last activity was 2012. Hope this isn't another William Favre (I don't mean the end result, I mean that perhaps he was told to stop building replicas)...
I've been wondering about this from time to time. Sure would be nice if someone...anyone...was making a 33 replica.
I know there was a replica or more correctly a bespoke composite Darrian tubed chassis car being built in the UK. I saw it in 2009. Great thing. Very stiff tub, Roush 2.0 Ltr V8 and 6 speed Quafe transaxle. Body mold take from an ally body made of the 33 prototype buck. Screens made wheels by Image in the UK. At the time I was asked to keep quiet about what what they were doing I followed its progress and stayed in touch with the guys involved. Latter I go pictures of a car being built on an Elise tub. I have attempted to get intouch with them recently to no avail. I cannot help but wonder if ALFA has put a stop to it. Although I know full replicas are being made in South Affrica. There is one In Australia which I hope to see in October at company that if you have enough patience and money will make you anything, in great detail.
Not a 33, but a pretty nice looking TZ1 up for auction in Australia. Lot 29 - Motorclassica 2015 - Sale as0206 | Theodore Bruce Art & Antiques Auctions
Interesting. There is a discussion about that tz1 over on alfabb forum. If I remember correctly the guy just recently bought it.
The TZ is a reconstruction and is owned by two guys, one a friend, who have owned it for a number years.
Hi Graeme, Who in SA is making replica's? I admit that since starting this thread I didn't follow up very closely, and I was in contact with a private person making one for himself, but that also is a few years ago. There is quite a replica-industry here, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone picked it up and took it further. Best, Jack.
Hi Jack Sadly the links i have have are blank, The guy had chassiss and body molds for the car , windscreens etc. As I said ealier I wonder if ALFA have stepped in and stopped the replicas. There is a 33 here in Australia I believe replica I think and I will enquire next week when I am Motorclassica
I followed up on the 33 Replica, in Melbourne at historic vintage Restorations. Historic & Vintage Restorations Historic & Vintage Car Restorations and yes most of the cars on the web picture are replicas The car or cars in question are a 33 Proto Type copy and a Periscopa. It turns out the basic unfinised cars are coming from Italy and being made there! I asked about the Italia take on replicas that cased a sensation a few years back when they ade the news crushing them, and they basically said things have changed just dont call it what you are coping.... Both the cars come with cast in ally subframes as per original ( F....g WOW) and tubes the lot all powered by a Montreal engines and wait for it new Coletti 6 speed boxes.( money talks) They expect the cars to arrive next year so I will keep in touch with them.
Ciao a tutti, È da tanto che non scrivo, ma ero molto impegnato con il lavoro. I lavori con le auto procedono.
